Did Ward remind anyone else of a billy goat with that last headbutt?

You know that one headbutt to me looks fishy. The other ones fine, but that one he came in head first, arms down.

Was it intentional? It is hard to say as he complained about the butt also. He did come in way too wildly with his head and should have been penalized for it.

He may have been innocent, but it certainly didn't look innocent.

I cant say it was intenional but i have to be honest ward has to stop it!
He does that move every time! Duck to his right go forward with his head clinch and his head goes up! I take nothing away from his performance but the ref has to look closer at that no doubt!

        Funny thing here.

All three first round matchups took place in "hometowns".

Froch in Nottingham, Abraham in Germany (adopted home), and Ward in Oakland.

I've never seen a fighter's face so cut up from head-butts (3 separate cuts - 2 extremely nasty ones blatantly from head-butts) and no warning been issued.

To say that did not impact on the fight is a joke.

I'm sorry to say it but in a lot of places Ward would have had a good chance being disqualified for that number of infractions.

            I agree..

its like alot of American fans are on some "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" mentality when it comes to dirty fighting.

I didn't approve of the way Froch fought, and I don't approve of the way Ward fought leading with his head, thrashing with his skull on the inside, and hitting with sneaky elbow shots.

And this talk about how its all the ref's fault and Ward escapes all blame is bull. You wouldn't be singing the same tune if he used repeated low blows without being called on it would you? How is headbutting any different on a morality scale?

Ward came in to clinch, and they clashed heads.
When u butt someone with intent, u at the very least move ur head down and forward. Ward just stepped in to grab Kessler. His head was up.
If it was intentional he risked getting cut himself which could of resulted in the fight being stopped and him losing.

At that point in the fight Ward was way ahead on the scorecards and it wouldnt make any sense to risk having points deducted.

Ward was not in trouble at all. It makes no sense he would butt on purpose.
