I've laced up, and that's why i'll never disrespect any boxer, because what the pros do is hard.

I was about to start doing some am fighting and began training, but I suffered a horrible accident in a open wheel race car in south america, so I never made it into the ring.. I did some pretty hard sparring though... Very tough sport..Comment

I’ve been a boxing fan since the early seventies, when I was a kid. After years of watching fights I thought I’d finally go see what the athletes I admired really went through. About eight years ago, I started going to a boxing gym and trained as well as my full-time job allowed. I did a fair amount of sparring (my favorite aspect of training). When I was satisfied with my progress, I stopped sparring. I felt that there was no sense in risking getting my nose broken just for fun. lol
I’m in total agreement with some of the posters here. I respect anyone who’s willing to step in the ring with another man and trade blows. It takes stones. I’ll go to war with a man like that, not someone sitting in front of the TV, guzzling beers and dreaming that they can do better. I, too, feel uncomfortable when a fighter is called a bum. Practically anyone who’s ever boxed probably feels similarly.Comment

I wrestled all my life. I know it's not boxing, but I understand how cutting and making weight works. I understand what it's like to compete on the highest level in a one on one sport.
I hate it when I hear ignorant, immature fans criticize fighters. These guys have NO IDEA the level of commitment and dedication it takes to perform on the highest level.
A guy like Mayweather has put in incredible work to be where he's at today.Comment
