The "May vs Pac PPV Common Opponent Argument" = ******
Collapse

Boxing is also business is what you say right? If it is then we should all look at this scenario at every angle.
You guys were talking about the pre-great recession Floyd figures right? While failing to see that Pac, fought those common opponents, during recession poor USA and yet, they were very much willing to see this guy fight?
Oh and of course, let's not forget that Pacquiao is Asian hence he's not on his own turf. Could you imagine if we were to count Philippines PPV and movie sales as well?
The fact that
Pac vs Cotto > May vs Marquez at their own home turf says alot.
Oh and what's so funny with a 50/50 cut? It's fair and ****ing reasonable. Pac's accomplishment for the last 3 years is no contest to May's blown out lightweight win.Comment

I know you love suckings pacs balls but the here are some facts that ill paste again since you havent read my thread:
Floyd Sold 1 million Pay per views pretty much on his own.
Proof:
Marquez PPV History with KNOWN FIGHTERS/Dance partners:
Marquez vs Casamayor: 100,000 Pay per views.
Marquez vs Barrera: 225,000 Pay per views.
Marquez vs Pacquiao II: 400,000 Pay per views.
Manny sold less than half with Marquez compared to what Mayweather-Marquez did. Pacquiao-Marquez did 400,000 because of Pacquiao. Marquez was never a PPV draw.
Floyd sold 2.4 million Pay per views with Oscar De La Hoya
Manny sold 1.25 million Pay Per views with Oscar De La Hoya
Floyd sold 925,000 Pay per views with Hatton
Manny sold 850,000 Pay Per views with Hatton
Hatton made his biggest payday against Floyd
Judah made his biggest payday against Floyd
Oscar made his biggest payday against Floyd
So did Baldomir and Marquez. So will Pacquiao...even if he accepts 60/40
Floyd is also the undefeated fighter out of the two.
Cotto is a NAME and has a GOOD following. His PPV against Margarito did really well. Pacquiao has a great following. When you put two fighters with good followings in other words when you have a dance partner then you can get a lot of PPV Buys!
Look at Marquez PPV History it tells you that he isnt a big name and didnt sell too well despite being there with names such as Barrera and Casamayor.
Cotto on the other hand has had successful PPV's in the past.
Cotto vs Mosley did 400,000 PPV numbers (The same as Pacquiao-Marquez II)
Cotto vs Margarito did 450,000 PPV numbers
Floyd sold 1 Million PPV's almost by himself while Pacquiao and Cotto both sold the PPV.
This time Pacquiao actually had another PPV attraction in Miguel Cotto who did 400,000 buys against Mosley and 450,000 buys against Margarito. HE HAD A DANCING PARTNER, IT TAKES TWO TO SELL A FIGHT. Floyd did it alone vs Marquez and did 1 million.
Twice more than what Pacquiao did!
-------------------------------------------------------
(Different time + different circumstances)
Floyd sold 2.4 million Pay per views with Oscar De La Hoya
Manny sold 1.25 million Pay Per views with Oscar De La Hoya
Floyd sold 925,000 Pay per views with Hatton
Manny sold 850,000 Pay Per views with Hatton
Result:
2.4m to 925k down to 60%
1.25m to 850k down to 32%
---------------------------------------------------
(different time) the data is inconclusive
Floyd Sold 1 million Pay per views with Marquez
Marquez vs Pacquiao II: 400,000 <> before hatton & dela hoya
RESULTS: Floyd popularity remained constant from his last fight while pacquiao increased his buys.
-----------------------------------------------
(different opponents) the data is inconclusive again
JMM vs Mayweather 1m
Cotto vs Pacquiao 1.6m-2m
Results:
Pacquiao from the hatton fight increased to about 160-200%
Mayweather remained consistent with his buys (avg 1m)
This is like watching the toyota company outsell GM-
you also have to consider growth and time
Pacquiao has a valid point of asking an even or more pot. Just look around google/youtube/*******/forums search counts if you don't believe pacquiao is more popular than mayweather. Ofcourse that doesn't guarantee PPV sales but it does send a clear message that 2:1 around the net prefer pacquiao over mayweather
I have to spend my fawking time to do this shiet but i want you *****s to shut up like your whinny ass idol.
I used the 2009 "May-October data" because thats when Mayweather vs JMM- Its actually more favorable to floyd just to prove a point that pacquiao owned his ass

Nobody's been able to top that at the moment.

Oh and quit ****ing with me. It wasn't recession 2006. Recession started at 2006 and even then, people were overspending, thus the great, ****ing, recession.Comment

Your a dumbass just like al haymon. You don't consider the rising popularity of Pacquiao ever since the fight with oscar.

and then to add into the fact, the other company wasn't even on the market when you had your best years. 1 could argue your success is a direct result of your adversary not being in the same market when you had your so-called growth.Comment

You can't compare a data given to you two years ago to data given to you today and not look at other factors. Numbers lie. If you use it as you guys doComment

You forecast using some data from 2 years ago and compare it with a data that is just so recent? Oh and on top of that, numbers shown were recession influenced numbers?
Oh and quit ****ing with me. It wasn't recession 2006. Recession started at 2006 and even then, people were overspending, thus the great, ****ing, recession.
oh and by the way, I'm forecasting his last 4 fights in contrast to manny's last 4!Comment
