Cotto is a guy who was known to get knocked down..get up and knock people out which is why PR was carazy about him..he tok one punch from Pac and turned into a cornerback.

Floyd will CONSISTENTLY throw the right hand until his arm falls off.
Huh? Cotto couldn't throw the right hand because Pacquiao neutralized it, 5 landed right hands in a fight is incredibly low.

And no, Cotto has done it before, maybe not 'quit on himself' but he has retreated like that befre. It's a physical and mental thing, Cotto seems to hit a wall after 5 or 6 rounds of his fights and he doesn't get second wins. Against N'dou, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey and now Pacquiao, the same thing has happened, he wanted to run out the clock. Mosley, N'dou and Clottey couldn't capitalize, Pacquiao and Margarito could (suspect wraps or not), it's one of the reasons why I picked Pacquiao by late knockout.

And again, no. Cotto came out the fifth round looking to show Pacquiao he wasn't hurt and won the 5th round on a few people's cards. It was the body shot at the end of the 5th IMO, that took it out of him. If you've ever been hit by body shots like that, you know that it takes a lot out of you and sometimes you don't recover, which seems to be what happened to Cotto.

The body shot in addition to Cotto's stamina problems is what caused Cotto to retreat.

Who knows? If Mayweather gets countered by something big from Pacquiao he might stop throwing it himself, we won't know until it actually happens.

i see pac as a counter-puncher, except instead of countering with 1 punch he swarms. thats the whole point of his old side to side head movement, to counter straight punches

Pac catches them during the exchanges. His greater speed and power, together with them crazy angles allow him to get the better of the exchanges.

Look at the last 10 seconds of the round, the camera angle wasn't good but you could see Pacquiao land a left uppercut/hook to the body that thudded home, made Cotto back up and drop his hands, Pacquiao then landed 2 shots on Cotto. Cotto wasn't the same after that.
