Once Manny started hurting him, Miguel wanted to hurt Manny back and that's when he started losing the fight. Cotto won the first round by boxing Manny. Manny checked his chin in the second and Miguel wanted some payback; it cost him, badly. Manny damaged him in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th. It was over after that. Perhaps if he had a better trainer, he would have been instructed to check his pride and keep Manny at the end of his jab.
Miguel got suckered into a fight...

If Cotto outboxed him when he moved and Jab...then good luck trying to beat Floyd. -

Until he catches one clean. At that point he can fight back or run and continue to catch 'em. Manny would walk him down. Floyd ain't got the power to keep Manny off him.Comment

Floyd is to hard to hit...Pacman is not Paul Williams.
And Floyd is not china chin and girly Miguel Cotto.Comment

You know how I feel. Pac wont have to walk Floyd down because Floyd will be walking him down, atleast by the 2nd half of the fightComment

That's a bit of a stretch. I gave Cotto the 1st round but it's not like he was dishing out anything that Pac couldn't handle. They were even in punch landed with Manny landing a bit more power shots and with Miguel connecting with his stiff jabs. But 12 punches landed by each, that's nothing to Manny. He was just being cautious feeling out Cotto in that opening round.Once Manny started hurting him, Miguel wanted to hurt Manny back and that's when he started losing the fight. Pac also has an excellent boxing brain and with his speed of foot and hand, he'd find a way to get to Cotto and make him fight sooner or later. It came sooner because in next next round Manny decided to step on the gas and swamp him with speedy combos while getting out of the way of retaliation with his quick movements. Cotto's boxing couldn't stop that attack. In fact he became a sitting duck.
True that when he decided to brawl it only made his problems worse, but if he stuck with his boxing skills, Pac would've still done damage because of his speed and quickness. The clincher was his Power because it actually had an effect (bad one) on a legit top welter and that he could take the same guy's vaunted power. Cotto's jab would be the least of his worries.Comment

I disagree with this. I know what youre saying 100% but he only did that because he's supposed to be this big strong monster. Even if he thought he could outbox Pac, at some point he was going to try to lay the law down. He's done that to bigger guys so you know he felt that he could snap Pac in half. I dont think it had to do with Pac hurting him and him going back. I think he was going to start fighting anyways because he thought he was too strong & powerful for Pac. He soon found out differently but by then it was too lateOnce Manny started hurting him, Miguel wanted to hurt Manny back and that's when he started losing the fight.
