Steroids/HGH/others....They may help nullify the pain compared to what you were. Increase of testosterone levels has an incredible effect on the body and mind: increase of muscle fibers and higher hormone levels = possible dulling pain effect compared to what you were naturally. Even your mindset can change with confidence. Testosterone is a confidence booster. Ego booster. Mental booster.
Plus, there are known substances that have been talked about before in sports like the NFL that I've heard that you can take to dim the pain without it affected your overall ability to stay functional.
I've heard about adrenaline substances as well although not sure about all the details.
I think steroids are linked to increasing adrenaline in the body.

All this is really just being thrown out there by everybody at this point.

But, let's stick with the legal way: Increase of muscle naturally by using certain training methods can help make you compact. Pac's bigger now so he has more padding than before. He's stronger. All this helps compared to what he was. Training methods to help you take the pain. And most of all..MENTAL ability.
One of the things with Holyfield that I've always thought gave him a bit of a boost is his belief system in himself propelled by his religious beliefs that probably made him feel like he was ordained by God. Power of the mind.

I hope Diaz comes in focused and kicks this f@gs ass. I just cant believe how he was ****ting on the sport after their first fight. This guy doesnt deserve none of the money or attention hes getting. How can you get and stay on HBO if everytime you fight good opposition you get your ass kicked or barely pull out a points win.

if you look at mayweather when he was at 130 how fast he was and how active he was now he is at 147 he has slowed down not as active a little slower along with ever other fighter in this world that moves up in weight and gets older(duran, chavez, withaker) but pac man is the exception kinda strange

                  yes they get tested

Kizer said “I can tell you that Mr. Pacquiao every time he fought here he has been tested as has his opponent and he’s passed every drug test we have given him, every steroid test we’ve given him and I don’t expect that to change anytime soon.”

Kizer said the NSAC does tests for “steroids and for drug abuse - marijuana, ******* etc. We do that before the fight and after the fight. Every time he (Pacquiao) has fought for the title here he’s been tested and he passed every test.”

When informed about how Pacquiao is adored in the Philippines and how angry Filipinos are over Mayweather Sr’s accusations, Kizer who is a lawyer, explained that “in boxing you see a lot of mind games are played and that’s understandable but I hope that if anyone had allegations of steroid use and drug use against a fighter that they have something to back that up with.”
