tune up for both first.
Margarito vs Cotto should be next.

Not entirely true. Mosley retreated, and several times found himself on the ropes. But the second he felt himself on the ropes he grabbed Margarito, turned him, and than unloaded power shots in the center of the ring.
Cotto is capable of doing if physically, but he just refuses to fight smart like that, it boggles my mind.
I think the these two ended each others' careers on July 26th, 2008 anyway.Comment

Cotto said his legs were absolutely shot by the 6th round... he couldn't keep moving. It's not that he didn't want to keep moving.. he couldn't.Not entirely true. Margarito was POUNDING his body.Comment

I saw Mosley circle him, but never retreat, and Mosley has an inside game which Cotto doesn't. Also margarito was on the ropes more than Mosley. Anyways this is the only big money fight for either man.Not entirely true. Mosley retreated, and several times found himself on the ropes. But the second he felt himself on the ropes he grabbed Margarito, turned him, and than unloaded power shots in the center of the ring.

I don't give a **** about Margarito making a dime.. and Cotto will have close to 10 million by the time the PPVs are tallied.. he doesn't NEED a paycheck.
Take a 6 month break, figure out your corner situation, and take a few tune ups.Comment

I hate to say it but Cotto is a ****** fighter w/ low ring IQ. He never seems to have a plan b. His plan b is to jog around the ring. If he hasn't learned till now,he never will. He is what he is.Cotto could beat him if he didn't fight like an idiot.
I don't think Margarito is that hard to beat if you're willing to fight a smart fight. The problem is Cotto's a stubborn moron.
Anytime Tony gets close, clinch, turn him, rinse and repeat. All you really have to do is smother him.
It's just that Cotto doesn't fight like that, and if you don't fight like that Tony will eat you alive.
If Cotto gets a trainer and sticks to a good gameplan, he could definitely beat Margarito.
Cotto can't. Cuz' he fears Tony. He really does fear him.Comment

Nah there's no point. Cotto took a beating from MArgarito/Pacquiao already, I highly doubt Cotto will look anything like he did the first 6 rounds of the Margarito fight. Why should he fight a guy that probably took several years out of his prime.Comment

As fans, I doubt any of us give a **** about the split since we will not recieve any of it.This fight needs to be made. Both just got decimated, each should have a tune up on the same card in late winter, and then should match up in summer.Comment

I don't want to see it... not after what Cotto has already been through.
And Margarito doesn't deserve to fight a "name"... at all.Comment

Yea, but he was pounding his body when Cotto was on the ropes. Cotto was already on the ropes in the 2nd round.
If Cotto smothered Tony off the ropes he wouldn't have absorbed that punishment is what I'm saying.Comment
