All you guys who keep saying that Cotto should fight Castillo, or even someone worse than he, don't seem to take into account that the worn-out guy that Cotto will fight, will be subject to a terrible beating, which could end in tragedy.

How about Cotto vs. Collazo? MSG on the eve of the P.R. day parade.
Agreed, and I even brought this matchup a day ago on another thread!!!

      Collazo doesn't have the power.

Again, Castillo has strength and a name. I think it's a worthy fight and I can see it being on a Top Rank PPV.
The reason I like more Collazo is because of the light fist that Collazo has. Cotto needs to tune up with a fighter that won't make is face swell as much and at the same time use the fight to work on improving his defensive flaws. For that matter I consider that Collazo will be more busy (because of Castillo's age) during the course of the fight and probably last longer but with no punching power that could probably affect Cotto's face.

Yes, Collazo is more of a risk than Castillo but I don't think neither boxer could beat Cotto and he will gain more beating Collazo then Castillo.

I'd rather see Cotto fight some random bum than some shot name like Castillo. He will be making a mockery of the sport if he takes this fight, and I won't even watch it if it happens. I thought Castillo retired anyway. WTF?

Let Cotto re-group and make amends with his uncle.

Whats up Gents i was @ the fight and it seemed Cotto wasn't himself and i wondered about the instructions that were being given from his corner or lack there of. my GFRIEND texted me and states that when he went southpaw for awhile he was getting it in but that his cornermen weren't even giving him instructions. he needs a six month rest and hopefully he and his uncle will reconcile and get back to the top.

Pointless. Cotto just needs to take a break.

                  Cotto Might Be Shot anyways

By the time hes gonna be done recovering (2-3 years) he migh be past his prime. And may never become the great fighter that he was projected to be.
I mean i dont want to see him fight bums for the rest of his career , A fight with Castillo would be a really good fight to boost his confidence. But if he has trouble with castillo he should consider hanging up the gloves.

A fight that will be more entertaining is cotto vs. marquez.Their style are really compatible and boxing fans will love it.hatton for sure cannot handle either marquez or cotto and he will end up as battered ex champion.let him retire for good..let's make cotto /marquez happen for the good of boxing and that will be a wonderful fight at 145.by the way tell malinnaggi to ask pacman his secret so he can win the fight against diaz..steroid? no, maybe redbull.his magic will not affect the babybull and will save him from losing.

                      Good Fight

That's a good fight, after a good long rest. 4 months rest & find a trainer, then 2 months training to come back a stronger 147, not a drained 145. Add a marketable opponent, thats a good fight.
