I like this fight.

Cotto vs a guy with a decent name (yes a complete has been/washed up) and most likely an easy win. Also should make for an exciting fight while it lasts.

Don't forget Cotto is coming off a tko loss to Pacquiao. He's taking some time off and will most likely put on a lot of weight. He will probably be rusty, and lacking some confidence in his next fight.

I see no problem with him fighting Castillo next.

People saying he needs to fight Margarito next are crazy. Dude just lost, let him get back into the mix of things slowly. No need to jump right into ANOTHER big fight right away. Be patient. The Clottey fight that Cotto had before Pacquiao was a very hard fight too. Give the guy a break.

Castillo has won his last 4 fights by knockout and he probably thinks he can take out Cotto now that Cotto has been defeated twice.

Great post. These people wanting Cotto to fight Margarito right away are either A) Impatient B) Morons or C) Both.

I think Castillo is a great fight for Cotto. It will challenge him enough to see if he's still got the mental toughness to hang around in the top class of WW fighters. Castillo can turn on the pressure when he wants to, and having Cotto challenge a fighter like Margarito right now is career suicide and makes NO SENSE. So quit suggesting it people.

Collazo is in no way a tuneup fight. Collazo beat Berto and would give more trouble to Cotto then he needs right now.

Again, Castillo has strength and a name. I think it's a worthy fight and I can see it being on a Top Rank PPV.

If they fight it should be on the eve of the Puerto Rican day parade on the undercard of Gamboa-Lopez. But I think June might still be too early. They should do this for Mexican Independence Day in September
