Pacquiao-Marquez 3: Roach Would Want it at 145

i knew it,he would never want to fight him again,he can at 140,which he can easily make,he's not a 145 pounder as it is...and he knows very well 145 is too high for marquez,so he wants all the advantages...it's just marquez style that gives him so much trouble and he wants to avoid him,,i still think floyd will beat him though,he hasn't fought a boxer since marquez and guys like that give him hell

I agree with Brother Nazeem Richardson when he stated that the biggest trick Team Pac has pulled is making us believe he is small. I was at the fight and when Pac walked by, he easily looked to be around 155lbs. Does anybody know Pacs weight on fight night? Another poster made the comment about Cotto always refusing to give his unofficial weight. The reason for that is because Cotto is one of the smaller WW's who competes at the elite level. Cotto being a small WW can't be argued. His refusal to weigh in on fight night is more about keeping a psychological advantage away from his opponents. What I don't understand is how so many contradicting statements made by Roach always go under the radar. Just today in the Steve Kim article he says that Manny is now a full 147 pounder. He also goes on to say that he believes that Cotto had regressed since the Margarito fight. I like Pac, but his career is just as steered and coddled as PBF. The difference being that Manny is more entertaining. He puts on a good show. The boxing media love him and will tout him because the industry needs him. They need a new DLH and it's hard not to be touched by Manny and his boyish charisma. Pac fans will argue that people keep coming up with the same excuses, But from what I see, those same excuses (I'd rather call them advantages) come from Roaches mouth as well. Who here can deny hearing Roach say any of the following: "DLH can't pull the trigger anymore" , "Hatton was never that good" , "Cotto is not the same fighter he used to be, right now is a good time to fight Cotto"? I don't get it. Like I said, I like Manny, but I prefer a fighter like Cotto who fought all the top fighters in his division-no concessions win or lose. People say he looked bad in this fight or that fight, but the bottom line is, it's hard to shine when you're fighting the elite in a proper division.

And for the record, no I'm not Puerto Rican or a Mexican or a Pac hater. I'm just a fan who is tired of all these divisions and catchweight title fights ruining the sport.

Saying that, Pacquiao doesn't need a fight with Marquez to be at 145. I can understand the Cotto fight being 145 because up until that point Pacquiao had not been tested against an elite WW, but now we know he can knock 'em dead so there's no reason for any of his WW fights to be at 145, nor any reason for a JMM fight to be at 145.

140-145 is fair but the more ideal is 140 and mannys junior welterweight belt..

but if floyd would be a ***** on the negotiations i think marq and pac 3 will be at 140-143....

Friend! lets just accept 145 lbs just to make it happend, I dont see much disad. for Marquez he looks slow coz he just can't counter Mayweather properly coz he's too smart and defensive. But for Pac he'll be very effective, punches received by Pac against cotto are anticipated punches where he can adjust his strengt to absorb and blocks the incoming. I think thats one reason why he still looks strong in late rounds. Correct me if im wrong! Marquez punches when lands are strength draining coz mostly its counterpunch, this is the time when opponent is releasing or just realeased an energy to make a punchs and once meet by an opposing energy and lands! creates a devastating effect and we seen this in their 2nd fight and his fight against Diaz the bull. So i believed 145 lbs wont make much diffence! his counterpunching skill will make a fair fight against Pac style.

the only way for this fight to be competitive will be at 135 lbs...PAC would struggle going back to 135 and it should at least tone down his physical advantages against Marquez... but what's the point ... their rivalry ended at 130 and that's that.... move on!!
