What I hate is when everyone calls another fighter a quitter, or a coward...or when they mock people with "No Mas" and stuff like that. You got to have a serious set of balls to lace up the gloves and fight as a profession man. I don't think we have a right to call so and so a quitter or a coward. I remember just after the Cotto Pacquiao fight, people saying Cotto is a coward for fighting backwards WTF??? Man lets see you jump in the ring with Pacquiao and from the moment the bell goes you'll be running backwards!
Challenge to anyone on here...

Valid point bud. I am not someone who calls people out per se but just wanted to point out that even boxers who get knocked out are still working hard (most of the time) at one of the most difficult sports out there. I do understand your point and I can agree as well. You CAN have a vast boxing knowledge without getting in the ring. That being said most reporters-announcers-play by play guys who dont/did not fight still have the respect for the fighters. Take Jim Lampley for example...I go to a local boxing gym near my house, i spar a lot bot i never had an actual amateur or professional fight. Though i agree there a lot of ******* on here, you guys on here that actually do box need to calm the hell down seriously. Congratulations, i give you credit for having the balls to do it but please stop thinking you guys are the ****ing man and some bad ass tough guys that are so much better or know more than everyone else on the site. The second someone criticizes a fighter within a sec "shutup ***** why don't u fight then you can say something, I FIGHT!". not everyone can be as cool as you guys i guess, but i would like to point out (which should be fairly obvious unless your a ******), you DON'T have to be a professional or amateur fighter to know boxing or be eligible to make comments. If that was true our sport truly would be dead. Can i criticize football unless i ever played for a varsity team, or criticize the president or a political figure without ever being in the Senate. No, so please stop. k thanksComment

You hear guys talking about this or that NBA player who "sucks" most of it's just talk you just have to watch out for that one idiot in the group who really thinks that he can play better than those players, without realising that the worst player in the history of the NBA is Michael Jordan in comparison to the average person.Comment

I practiced Boxing and Jeet Kune Do for several years. Jeet Kune Do actually teaches a lot of Western Boxing techniques (i.e. slipping jabs, accuracy, using speed bag, fight from both stances, etc).
But yea, there's a lot of people here who probably wouldn't last 45 seconds in the ring yet call fighters quitters LOL.
Funny story (Ravishing can co-sign on this one for me). One of our friends who worked out a lot and was in shape thought he could climb in the ring and spar with me for 3 rounds (this was in 2002). I'm 5'7, 155 and he's 5'10 180. We meet up and I'm doing warm ups and he's just sitting there waiting. We did about a min and a half of sparring and he was already saying, "Ok man, Ok man!!" LOL he found out 1st hand how tough Boxing and all contact sports really are as far as preparation. Thats why I respect all fighters and am such a fan of both Boxing and MMA. Such a rigorous way of living if you're a Pro.Comment

The vast majority of posters in here couldn't shadow box 3 fulls rounds without stopping much less get in there and fight someone.
If they did make that mistake 95% would quit like Zelenoff the very first time they got hit by a good punch.Comment

I've been boxing for 3.5 years now. I remember when i didn't go to the gym. It was easy to yell at the TV and say WHY THE F*** DIDN*T YOU GET AWAY FROM THAT SHOT YOU ****** MORON!!!. When i joined a gym and felt what it is like to step into a ring and fight someone, you just get a whole new level of respect to the guys that fight. That's why i never diss a fighter, you can't call anyone a ***** who was stepped through those ropes to take on another man who wants to destroy you.Comment

Been there done that...
I actually have a gym and sparring session scheduled for later today.Comment

Exactly what I went through. I haven't trained in a couple years, but even if you don't train to fight professionally it's one hell of a workout.I've been boxing for 3.5 years now.
