This goes to show how important it is to build up stars at Madison Square Garden for the health of boxing. It's good to spread the big fights and fighters around, not just keep them in Vegas.

those who said cotto was the draw rather than pacquiao were idiots or pac-haters. pac's fights have always been sold out since barrera.

        cotto?

        ask arum!

anyone who thinks cotto was the draw because of this is illogical and ******.
lets say for example the knicks were to play the lakers, it most likely will sell out even at a higher price than usual, the majority are knick fans, but it sold out cuz of kobe and the lakers not the knicks.

now im not saying cotto didnt bring any ppv buys, but pac is the draw. its cottos biggest fight because of his opponent, pacquiao.

Cotto did have an agreement with Top Rank that the income of the PPV sells in Puerto Rico where for Miguel Cotto Promotion (promotional partner for this fight with Arun), so at least he's going to have some very going $$$ coming his way.

I'm a Cotto fan and although it has been proven that Cotto has had decent sells in the past, the only reason that this fight had such good PPV numbers was because who Cotto was fighting. True that Cotto brought a huge fan base to the table, but those number would had only been accomplished if Cotto would had fought either Pacman or PBF.

Besides those 2 fighters I doubt a Cotto fight would reach 1 mil figure in PPV.

Keep in mind also that the media was so friendly and the coverage was so massive for this fight mainly because of what Pacquiao was trying to accomplished which turned in to free marketing and inderest promotional campaigne.

Having said that with the earnings from the Puerto Rican PPV which are 100% for Cotto (as per the agreement with Top Ranks and Miguel Cotto promotions) + guarantee million figure on the contract + the 35% of the rest of PPV sells and promotional income, Cotto will be easily arriving to the 15 mil figure for this fight and Pacman probably will be close to the 20 mil which are really good numbers for the boxers and the sport.

                    Pacquiao-Cotto PPV

GRUSTLER : You should worry about Cotto's health, not the PPVs share of Cotto. Cotto is going to get a fair share of PPV income aside from endorsements & his take home for last Saturday's fight. You & I don't get anything if you think Cotto still has any chance to change last weekends event ....

                      Mayweather-Pacquaio Fight

It's going to happen. Mayweather just feels insulted that he hears it from other sources like a second-hand gossip. Floyd & fans, you're going to see the fight. I'm not saying Manny will win but as Manny said, may the best man win. Floyd & fans might misunderstood me about the best man part. It's not on the wedding entourage ....
