Obviously Manny is more recognized worldwide and quite popular, but Cotto has his fair share of followers. Manny is a bigger draw, but it wasn't a one man show. The fight sold as well as it did because of the two who were fighting. I think this is the best both have done in terms of sales maybe, not sure.

The PR PPV numbers are good news for Cotto seeing as it was revealed that in exchange for him to put his belt on the line Arum gave him exclusive rights to PPV buys in Puerto Rico. He put up a valiant effort against a superior fighter and will be paid handsomely.
Good for his family because unlike others that waste their money on mansions and ***elry Cotto has been a very good businessmen and has numerous investments.

The fight sold on the fame of both warriors. Pac is an international boxing figure and Cotto is an attraction also. This fight built itself and was a quality match against a sure action fight. Its a combination from both for whatever reason the consumer chose to buy the fight. Overall this is great news for boxing and to think two years ago ppl were saying that it was on its last legs

All This means is that more Puerto Ricans saw Cotto get his ass handed to him than saw Trinidad steal a decision from De la Hoya.

He won 2 rds. How the hell is that a valiant effort? He go his ass kicked plain and simple and I'm not even a PAC fan.

Interesting, I saw about 30-40 Manny fans in that video in Los Angeles, and not one of them was white, brown, or black. They were all Asian, mostly Filipino. Not a surprise, Americans don't care about Manny.

The numbers are relative. You have too look at how many more homes have cable and satellite services today as compared to back then.

Oscar vs Tito was a promotion on epic levels, and if it were done today, the numbers would almost certainly be much higher with so many more people with PPV hookups.
