Mayweather-Pacquiao: Both Sides Taking Hard Lines

What is Floyd talking about? Marquez is Mexican and brings a TON of fans to his fights. Is he trying to say Cotto brings fans but Marquez doesn't? What a pile of bull**** this is. Neither guy deserves more than 50% for this fight. They're both the greatest in the sport. Neither guy is bigger or better until they fight and someone wins.

Didn't mayweather say (Brian Kenny's interview) the reason he fought Marquez instead of Mosley is because he was a bigger draw? Now his saying Marquez is nothing, so why take the fight again...?

Not only that dude, He went on and on about "Marquez has a whole country behind him" and has a "bigger fanbase than Mosley".....and the fight was on the weekend of Mexican Independence day....like that wasn't just a coincidence! May can be full of **** sometimes. Yes he is a big draw, but he did have a dance partner in his last fight.

I'd say at least 146. Mayweather seemed still good at that catch weight, and paquiao weighted like what 148 against Oscar? I don't see what the big deal is with fighting at 147. O that's right, he only agreed to 147 with Oscar because roach knew that oscar would struggle with weight and be a sitting duck for manny. He knew he was past his best already. He trained the man for god sake. Roach knows that cotto at 147 would have had more power and cotto would have been to comfortable. That's why he doesn't want Floyd at 147, cause he knows mayweather would be at his best, and too big and defensive for manny. He knows mayweather will struggle at 145, and that he won't be at his best. Not this time roach. 147 or at least at 146. And by the way, I think Filipino goverment is a joke.

Without the Mexicans, that fight would not have even reached 800,000 PPV buys so Mayweather is full of it. He likes to hype himself up a lot but at the end of the day he knows that Pacquiao is the main attraction and he should be thankful for 50/50. After 6 months of building a "Good guy vs Bad Guy" promotion, everybody who ever watched boxing will watch this fight. The final pot will be one that may never be exceeded. Mayweather will do his part to hype the fight and Roach/Arum will do theirs. Pacquiao is not a trash talker which is why he will be the silent "Good guy" until the bell rings. Maybe the name if the fight should be "The Fight that God Wanted."

mosley-pacquiao would be foty (maybe even fight of the decade) level action.

it'll be less money , not as big but it'll be a better fight.

And I feel this is the most likely scenario. Mayweather will hold on to his bluff of 60-40 until Mosley beats Berto. Then the real negotiations will begin. If PBF doesn't budge from his money stance on his version of the split Manny Pacquiao will fight Shane Mosley. No argument from me Mosley is someone that Mayweather would not fight and will add to Pac's reputation of taking the best fighters of the world that are willing to fight.

If Manny does fight Mosley and beats him he would have conquered the Welterweight division and will not need a victory over a farce big headed undefeated side show attraction like Mayweather. Floyd's camp should remind him of this. "Money" May would lose his money on probably the biggest cash opportunity of his career but if it's against Pac it may very well be the last fight of his career. That is Floyd's dilemma on taking less money because he won't get a second chance if he loses to Manny, more than likely it will be a one sided loss. How does someone who is not liked by the majority of the public come back to make big money from a one sided loss?

The money is another issue, the one thing that can make the negotiations easier is if Pac-Cotto does more than 1.5 mill in PPV. If Pac-Cotto does 1.2mill PPV or less, then it will be tough to negociate. One of the reasons will be that Cotto is a bigger draw than Marquez so they should have done 1.5m or more PPV.
Anyway I hope the fight is made and the date is March because if we wait for Manny to run for elections then we may never see the fight. Roach can start now with his strategy and they can start camp 8 weeks before the fight and that will be January. Otherwise Manny won't get the time to train. Being a goverment official requires a lot of time especialy in a country that needs a lot of work.

well mayweather can't come in healthy and in good spirits either that wouldnt suit mr roach,he likes his fighter to fight weak opponents,i dont know why everyone ****s on mayweather senior when freddy is the one talking all the smack and choosing skinny beaten fighters.
