Where does Pacquiao rank in the Welterweight ATG's?

Please name 3 top rulers at 135 that Pac CAN'T beat...he just fought 1 fight there and jump to welter, I mean Pac can't fight all the champions of each division. Even if Diaz wasn't the best at 135 he's definitely one of the top guys there IMO.Comment

Their WW runs don't even compare. Also, it's 12 LW defenses, 11 by KO. Just being picky.
Pac would need to do a hell of a lot more to get close to something like that. Beating a shot Oscar who hadn't been a WW in nearly a decade and Cotto doesn't rank anywhere on the WW scale even a little bit.
Any WW champion of the past hundred years with more than a couple of defenses and a win over a decent WW champ would rank higher.
His body of work is special because of the whole thing, but at one weight division he really doesn't rate highly in any division. He never did anything great in one division for any length of time.Last edited by BennyST; 11-17-2009, 07:23 PM.Comment

Same with Pac. I wouldn't rate him as a very high LW through WW but in general I would rate him very high.Comment

Well, the difference between these two is that when Duran moved to WW, he beat one of the top three ATG WW's whose only loss in his prime and at WW was to him, another HOFer WW and a series of top contenders during an incredible era of WW's such as Monroe Brooks, Emilliano Villa, Adolpho Viret, Jimmy Heair.

This is just in response to the comment that he cannot rule a division. I was pointing out that he arguably beat the best in each division except 135. In response to you, no 135 fighter now can beat pac but his claim as the best in 135 is not good considering he fought Diaz... at best the top 3 of 135 at that time.Comment
