lol you should know that there's a gigantic difference between athletes and a normal boxingscene poster.
:resting pulse rate is definitely a lot slower than us
:breathing can be as low as 7 maybe 8 to ten breaths per min
all because they are well conditioned.
look @ jordan when he came back in his 40s... a normal person wont survive the wear and tear of playin all your life, retirin then comin back to play again.Comment

you ever work out and maintain a high calorie diet? the suitable calorie intake for mass/strength training is 3000 calories. it's very unlikely for someone to remain 142 pounds while consuming 8000 calories a day. that's more than double the optimum calorie intake for bodybuilders. not to mention, sometimes eating 3000 calories a day you have to set specific times to work out or you may feel like throwing up during exercise. 8000 calories a day and pac would be a couch potato, probably wouldn't be able train properly.
I agree with Nasim, pac was huge for a FW.Comment

i wasn't comparing them, i'm clearly said one was for strength. boxers are usually lean and don't strength train.Comment

the average person is supposed to consume 2500-3000cals a day. thats your average male to maintain a healthy body. im not talking about someone who is an athelete
thats your basic 3 course meal/3 times a day with two to three snacks.
the minimum caloric intake
Eat enough calories but not too many. Maintain a balance between your calorie intake and calorie expenditure—that is, don't eat more food than your body uses. The average recommended daily allowance is 2,000 calories, but this depends on your age, sex, height, weight, and physical activity.
when i was in the gym hard, i was consuming 6000 to 7000cals a day. not because i was forcing myself to eat, b/c my body was metabolizing and breaking the food down that quickly sicne i had so much muscle mass which requires alot of fuel
that was just from working out, i wasnt playing basketball, football, or anything else for recreational purposes. it would have been higher if i was
you have no idea what you are talking aboutComment

Well he's 5'5 (I don't buy he's 5'6) and he's got a small frame. It's not a trick he really is small.Comment

the average depends on weight and size. that article you quoted clearly says a 2000 calorie diet but didn't specify the person's size. 6000 calories seems excessive.Comment

3000 cals will not sustain manny or any boxer. the more active you are, the more cals you burn, the more health food your eat, the faster your body will metabolize the food b/c its knows it doesnt need to store fat since its not being staved by not getting food.
even a fly weight boxer on a 3000 caloric intake diet would be straving all the time.
stop talkiong about health and nutrition b.c you are clueless
use the USDA caloric guide to show you how dumb you are
using mannys specs. this is what you come up with. mind you. this is with only 60mins of actively working out each day, which is the highest selection
Eat these amounts from each food group daily. This plan is a 2800 calorie food pattern. It is based on average needs for someone like you. (A 32 year old male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 148 pounds, physically active more than 60 minutes a day.) Your calorie needs may be more or less than the average, so check your weight regularly. If you see unwanted weight gain or loss, adjust the amount you are eating.Last edited by sycomantz; 11-17-2009, 02:24 PM.Comment
