Following on from my previous post re the subjectivity of judging, the Ward fight brings the two factors mentioned - home turf and championship status, and balances them out, one each - it will be interesting to see which has the most pull in a close round, the hometown appeal or the fact that the challenger must tear the title from the champion's grip. In Dirrell's case he had both factors against him and didn't adjust his style, in Ward's case he still needs to remeber he is challenging for a belt as well as for the tournament as a whole.

I'm still going with Kessler, on his counterpunching and, quite frankly underrated speed and power. Ward has skills but he takes amateur style risks to score points and despite his good footwork he can overbalance. This or carelessly coimng into a post combination clinch may leave him open to an uppercut, at that point we will know if he is the real deal or not.

And yeah, Kessler has to knock out Ward, otherwise, he'll definitely get robbed.

well considering dirrell was just robbed blind and the referee in that fight was a joke then that tells me anything is possible in this tournament. that robbery completely ****ed this tourny up because the wrong fighter is progressing forward in the tournament and please dont say it was close because it wasnt AT ALL. but froch will be eliminated in my opinion because i see no virtual way of him beating any of his future opponents besides taylor (if he goes through with fighting in the tourny) he gets knocked out by both abraham and kessler and completely embarrassed by ward worse than he did by dirrell

Froch has had it in my opinion ..... i can see him being stopped by both kessler and abraham, think the top four that go through are

winner of ward/dirrel (i think this is their last fights, i could be wrong)

Dirrell wasn't robbed.

He ran 95% of the fight, kept repeatedly holding, deliberately fell several times, bitched to the ref, and kept insulting and sticking out his tongue at his opponent.

Such negative and childish behavior should have resulted in a disqualification loss for Dirrell.
