Who here thinks the thread starter is using the old "I didn't like what actually happened so I'm going to use my imagination to make the fight what I would of LIKED to happen"
Cotto never dominated anything. Even in the first round, he never had it.
He got whooped, dominated and humilatited.
Get over it.
Getting beat by the P4P #1 fighter in the world is far from being humilated
you fail!
It was just a damn thought you haters. In my opinion, i'm not saying he completely dominated pac, but to me he dominated in the sense that he made pac miss, he popped a good jab to snap his head back, and he was moving in a circle around him. Pacquiao's punches in the first round weren't nearly as effective as cotto's, IMO. I just think that immediately in the second round Cotto got way too confident and tried to jump on Pac and that's when everything went all to hell. Im not saying he would've destroyed him or anything, or that he would have won, im just asking, "Who else here thinks Cotto dominated the first round?" If you don't, then don't say anything. Problem solved. Dont get mad.
Dominated the first round and would've beaten Pacquiao if he didnt come out too aggressive inthe second and third rounds allowing himself to get hit? not to take anything away from MAnny who deserves all the credit this time, but just a simple question/thought?
Nah, Cotto couldn't match the speed or aggression, he would've gotten broken down eventually. He's still a warrior for finishing the fight but he was outclassed.
Cotto definitely changed the initial plan and switched to exchange with Manny. That was a bad idea. He needed to box and not lower his guard. He was landing that jab beautifully. I mean, maybe he got caught up in the moment, but he payed for it dearly. I think if he kept distance and just stuck to boxing, he could have outboxed him.
To those saying that Manny was going to win anyway no matter what Cotto did, get a clue. That sounds very fanboy-like. It was a winnable fight for Cotto, but Manny imposed himself that night and stuck to his plan. Neither of them are invincible.
What a lot of people don't get is that Pacquiao after the first round managed to take away Cotto's weapons. It wasn't like Cotto just switched off after the first.
