  • It would be nice if motherf**kers were men enough to say 'we can agree to disagree' and not immediately call ppl fa-got because they disagree. I've seen a few posts in this thread that kind of suggests the former- it's refreshing.

I think Floyd said very true words in that interview. He *is* in a no-win situation. When he beats Manny, he won't get any credit. Then again, does it count if it's from people with a ridiculous sense of entitlement and bias against him? The fans of Floyd will know- I hope that means something.

I don't think its a question of Floyd not having balls- I just think his viewpoint annoys people because they themself can't concieve of having it. He really IS sincere when he says he isn't fighting for bragging rights, and there is nothing cool about taking punishment. Frustrating, isn't it? But hes correct. Why should Floyd engage in wars when it won't change anything anyhow? He doesn't owe people anything. Don't buy his fights if he frustrates you so much. I don't like certain boxers- I just don't buy the fight. Simple as that.

I could live with that. Out of curiosity why are you biased towards Floyd as you mentioned? Take Lance Armstrong as an example, he has an insatiable need to compete at the highest level, it's why he came back to be Tour De France after being diagnosed with and beating cancer. Michael Jordan felt a need to beat everyone they put in front of him, it was about his competitive fire. With Mayweather I just don't see the same need or intense desire or passion to be great, I just don't see it.

Pac on the other hand reminds me a lot of Brett Favre, he possesses a child like enthusiasm, always smiling and seems to love the competition, much in the way that Favre does. When Cotto would hit him, Pac would clap his gloves together and say let's go. Mayweather gets hit and he literally says "let's go" but it's around the ring lol.

            Many here don't.

Most just post to offset the absurdity of clownish posters with no reason.

"Floyd retired as the lineal welterweight champion and nobody can beat him".

Do you not see how illogical that is?

If Floyd retired and didn't fight anyone worth their salt,

how can he be beaten then?

You say you want to talk boxing, but I don't see you going around correcting ridiculous comments like what I just mentioned. You actually side with that nonsense and that is why people flame on *****s.

Because they act like little kids sticking their hands in their ears saying, "na na na na na, I can't hear you".

I'm not saying all Floyd fans are like that but the stans are.

If and when he beats Manny he will get all the credit in the world. People take issue with the fact that he could have fought Berto or even Collazo in his return bout, rather than making JMM jump up two divisions to face him, he warrants the criticism and it is justified.

Berto and Collazo would have been a perfect comeback/tuneup bout, but again he went with his usual formula of "low risk/high reward" bouts. That's not going to garner respect, it makes people like Bert Sugar and RA the rugged man question his real motives and respect for the sport, a sport that has afforded him the lifestyle to call himself "money".

Moving forward he can fight Shane, P Will and some of the young and up coming guys like Peterson but the point is, he is active, in his prime and a welterweight who has yet to fight a true legitimate welterweight, so why not fight the best possible fighters out there without always talking about money as an obstacle?

We partake in the sport as fans,

                because we love the sport,

not the money another man makes, or his house or his cars,

but what he does in the ring.

                Floyd used to do that.

But once he got a name, he regressed in the types of matchups he used to make. You'll never see any respectable boxing fan **** on his time at 130 and 135.

But you will see criticism at 140 and up because its entirely justified.

People don't like Floyd because hes cheating the sport by using it solely as means to make money. People don't like Floyd because he refuses to fight the best, all while claiming to be the best.

You can ask around, and for every Floyd "hater" you see here, I'd guess three fourths of them used to be Floyd fans.

People appreciate his skills and talents,

but its just not impressive when you're beating guys everyone knows you'll beat, especially when they are continuously smaller men.

                • Gayweather

Floyd starts quacking like a duck. Soon you hear his father barking like a junkyard dog and then his uncle rap like a ****** rapper. It don't need Pac to say "I want to fight Floyd". If this fight is made, i'd rather watch the fat woman sing in the orchestra. If Cotto used all space in the ring to run from Pac, Floyd will hid under the ring to avoid get beaten.

I was kidding, it's not that serious. But why should we (fans of boxing) be thankful of a man blessed with otherworldly talent, who refuses to pit that talent against other notable welterweights? I'll be thankful if he fights Shane, P Will and Pac, win or lose I'd be thankful and respect the man, but he hasn't shown any heart in recent years and you know that, that isn't hating that is just the truth.

there is a saying which is.. "too wrongs do not make a right."

with that in mind- if people are doing what you say they are- and i don't feel i am- your reaction is to call them **** and f**got. which is offensive to 90% of MMA fans here, I might add- who are you to speak for everyone, and to lump me in with these apparent 'stans'. what constitutes a stan. everyone is entitled to their opinion.

i'm just pretty bored with people getting tough and insulting other people. i've never done that, and i'll never be pro active in trying to f**k with someone just because they aren't a Floyd Mayweather fan. **** is childish.
