All I care for is for the best fighters to fight the best fighters.

Now I know you think I'm a "hater", but a "hater" wouldn't call Floyd "one of the best" as I always have. I recognize his talent, I see his skill and I've never seen any better on one person.

But, when one chooses to waste away that talent by taking on less than worthy opposition, well as a paying fan of the sport, I'll give my honest review.

I don't have one particular fighter in mind, only that he just fights the other "bests" in the division.


I don't dwell on wins or losses too much because they are part of the sport.

Simply fight the best is all I ask and not resort to using excuses to get out of the fights we want to see.

hes been a welter for 5 years now. In that 5 years we've seen the other "bests" of every other division take on the other "bests" in their divisions.

Facing Pacquiao is a step in the right direction. To be honest, I think Floyd could beat them all, just as I think they all could beat him. But thats why we watch, because we never know until the bell sounds.

Which is why as a fan, it drives me crazy when people as talented as Floyd simply refuse to fight the best there is to offer.

Pernell Whitaker is in my top three of favorites of all time. He has a similar style to Floyd in that he is predicated on defensive movement, however, Pea was never afraid to take on the best time after time after time.


I'm sorry, but we just don't get that from Floyd.

I was kidding, it's not that serious. But why should we (fans of boxing) be thankful of a man blessed with otherworldly talent, who refuses to pit that talent against other notable welterweights? I'll be thankful if he fights Shane, P Will and Pac, win or lose I'd be thankful and respect the man, but he hasn't shown any heart in recent years and you know that, that isn't hating that is just the truth.

Ok well look Cotto has fought Shane, Mosley and Margarito all considered elite "welterweight" competition at one time or another and most recently Pac widely regarded as the best fighter on the planet. Floyd fought a part time fighter/promoter(and had problems with him for the first six rounds of that fight), a jr welterweight and then a lightweight, that's perspective not hate, because it's all true.

I'm a massive boxing fan and sports fan in general, a few years older than you, but I grew up in a boxing household, my father was a trainer in the islands, now I actually have the privilege of writing professionally for a few boxing pubs and covering fights in the northeast from press row, so it's always cool to meet and talk to people about boxing, one thing we all agree on is that we love the sport and we want to see it grow.

I've actually had the opportunity to interview one of the Mayweather brothers and I asked him point blank, is Floyd really like this or is it just an act, because I thought to myself this guy can't possibly be this much of a d*ck lol. The uncle replied verbatim...."no he's really an a$$hole" and it was my first interview and I effed it up because after that answer, I didn't know how to follow that up and I just stared at him for 2 minutes straight in disbelief lol.
