Take Lance Armstrong as an example, he has an insatiable need to compete at the highest level, it's why he came back to be Tour De France after being diagnosed with and beating cancer. Michael Jordan felt a need to beat everyone they put in front of him, it was about his competitive fire. With Mayweather I just don't see the same need or intense desire or passion to be great, I just don't see it.

Pac on the other hand reminds me a lot of Brett Favre, he possesses child a enthusiasm, always smiling and seems to love the competition, much in the way that Favre does. When Cotto would hit him, Pac would clap his gloves together and say let's go. Mayweather gets hit and he literally says "let's go" but it's around the ring lol.
im 28 years old and im still young at heart when it comes to sports... i find a player who i love to watch and i fall in love... i love watching players who seem to show god like things that we dont see from ordinary athletes... my favorite athletes (Peyton Manning, Ken Griffey Jr., Kobe Bryant and Floyd Mayweather). Some may call it being a boatjumper but i love seeing the best at my favorite sports and to me they r and have been the best since I have followed their respective sport... doesnt mean i dont respect lebron james, barry bonds, brett fave and manny pacquio... it makes me love my favorite that much more....

and i agree with a lot of your post above... u seem like a true fight fan that i would love to talk **** with at my house over a fight....

    • when he came deliberately overweight with the marquez fight..

that tarnished his professionalism inside the ring..which mattered most.

outside the ring, its all showbiz and sensationalism.. really dont matter.

Berto and Collazo would have been a perfect comeback/tuneup bout, but again he went with his usual formula of "low risk/high reward" bouts. That's not going to garner respect, it makes people like Bert Sugar and RA the rugged man question his real motives and respect for the sport, a sport that has afforded him the lifestyle to call himself "money".

Moving forward he can fight Shane, P Will and some of the young and up coming guys like Peterson but the point is, he is active, in his prime and a welterweight who has yet to fight a true legitimate welterweight, so why not fight the best possible fighters out there without always talking about money as an obstacle?
give me one other tune-up that could of made more than 1 mil in buys..... yes the guys u mentioned above would of been better challenges but marquez is a HOF... straight business bud, u and i would of done the same dame thing

            • floyd's been fooling his fans with boring, less impressive than what's expected given his much touted boxing skills and yet here they are...the *****s still kissing floyd's ass

I'm a massive boxing fan and sports fan in general, a few years older than you, but I grew up in a boxing household, my father was a trainer in the islands, now I actually have the privilege of writing professionally for a few boxing pubs and covering fights in the northeast from press row, so it's always cool to meet and talk to people about boxing, one thing we all agree on is that we love the sport and we want to see it grow.

I've actually had the opportunity to interview one of the Mayweather brothers and I asked him point blank, is Floyd really like this or is it just an act, because I thought to myself this guy can't possibly be this much of a d*ck lol. The uncle replied verbatim...."no he's really an a$$hole" and it was my first interview and I effed it up because after that answer, I didn't know how to follow that up and I just stared at him for 2 minutes straight in disbelief lol.

Anyway I have more interviews here is one with Nate Campbell, it was my first live interview. I probably ****** but I think the interview got better as I went along, anyway you'd be a better judge than me....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVOnd...eature=related.

                • Mayweather is accusing Pacquiao of not saying with words that he wants to fight Mayweather when both Shane Mosley and Paul Williams have punked him and made him look like a fraud to boxing fans. Pacquiao is the king of the throne, and he doesn't need to chase Mayweather. Mosley and Williams have that hunger to get to the top, and since Mayweather was granted it by beating a blown up 130 lber (Look at where he is ranked P4P and at 147) he will continue with his ducking and out pricing ways.

Lol listen I'd fight a 90 year old guy at the Y for 5 bucks, so that isn't saying much.

not the money another man makes, or his house or his cars,

but what he does in the ring.

                      Floyd used to do that.

But once he got a name, he regressed in the types of matchups he used to make. You'll never see any respectable boxing fan **** on his time at 130 and 135.

But you will see criticism at 140 and up because its entirely justified.

People don't like Floyd because hes cheating the sport by using it solely as means to make money. People don't like Floyd because he refuses to fight the best, all while claiming to be the best.

You can ask around, and for every Floyd "hater" you see here, I'd guess three fourths of them used to be Floyd fans.

People appreciate his skills and talents,

but its just not impressive when you're beating guys everyone knows you'll beat, especially when they are continuously smaller men.

who does he need to fight to make u personally a fan again?

im pissed because the mosley fight has not happened but we all knew he wants pacman first.... if he beats pacman then fights mosley... will u persoanlly as a fan of the sport respect him then??
