yeah man i think that the pacma is just out of this world when it comes to fighting he is by far the best fighter in the world right now and the most exciting but i dont think miguel cotto should haved taken the fight i just dont see at how cotto could haved beaten him ? he dont punch like felix trinidad at 147 and i think after the margarito beating he didn't want to get hit any moreI disagree that Manny was timing Cotto's jab. It was still effective every time he threw it, he just stopped throwing it, hoping to counter Manny instead. Had he kept using the jab consistantly, kept Manny fighting off his heels, he'd have had a much better chance of having his body work pay off later and stopping Pacman. Instead, he started brawling with a much quicker guy who packs a big punch, thinking he'd make a short night of it himself.
Manny is in SUPERB condition, and can take a punch. No way he's going to get caught early and KO'd, which is what Miguel was hoping for.....you can see it by the way he fought the first few rounds.
Cotto should've kept throwing the jab and doing the body work he did early. WOuld've been a pick'em fight if he had.
Anyway, glad I didn't put a couple hundred down on a late KO win by Cotto like I considered.Comment

Cotto was not shot.Sorry but you can't use that excuse on this one.
Cotto had 4 months of solid training and getting down to weight in a very healthy manner. He didn't look drained or weakened, as a matter of fact he looked strong as ever.
Also, Santiago did a great job IMO as far as strategy for this fight. Cotto came out, used the jab and did very well in the first few rounds.
People ask why Cotto didn't throw more or use the jab more. I will tell you why. Because after the 3rd or 4th round, Manny was timing the jab with that lead "check" hook of his and then following it with a straight left.
It's hard to keep throwing the same punch when your opponent is countering it consistently. Anyone who has ever fought or even sparred understands this.
Cotto was in tip top shape, well prepared but just ran into a destroyer in Pacquaio.
Saying Cotto was shot is taking away from Pac's victory. Cotto looked good in his last 2 fights, getting through a rough cut against Clottey and KO'ing Jennings.
Pac is just on another level and some people just don't want to admit that.
DLH was.
Hatton just sucks haha or had bad style for PacquiaoComment

I really, really dislike Manny Pacquiao as a boxer and that dislike is almost teetering on hatred. I respect the hell out of him, and he seems like a good dude, but I think he is overhyped, and purposely hasn't been matched with certain styles that could bring him much difficulty (since JMM). With that said, I think Manny beat one of the best versions of Miguel Cotto I have seen. He was sharp with his jab, counters, and timing of Manny's speed intermittently throughout the fight. He wasn't very winded, as shown by his ability to dance away (aka run) from the faster Pacman in the later rounds. At the end of the day, Pac was simply too much for him. Though I think the same thing would have happened at 147, the catchweight does taint the win just a bit. Still, Pacquiao is definitely the man, and his legacy should continue to grow to legendary heights.Comment

In hindsight, its clear Cotto was shot. I bought the 24/7 hype but Atlas was right all along.
Cotto was the easiest fight for Packy to pick at 47 cuz' he no longer has punch resistance and no heart.
It was clear in the Tony and Clottey fights that Cotto is done.
And the catchweight also seems to have affected him, he didn't look as big and strong as he did in the Clottey fight.
Floyd will maul Packy easily. He gets hit too damn much.Comment
