    That's an excellent point.

The 145 had nothing to do with the outcome of the fight. Cotto could not generate power because Pac was never stationary long enough to allow Cotto to stop, plant and rip a hook to the body. To be fair, Cotto ripped some good body shots and Manny took them in stride. The uppercut in the 3rd round changed the whole fight.

No way Cotto would have ever beat Mayweather at any weight.

All my respect and admiration for Pac!!! I love both fighter but was rooting for Cotto and I sincerely believed that he would win based on numerous factors. Pac showed that he can assimilate punches in a way I did not foresee at all. Cotto was brave but he could just not hurt Pac and that was the difference. Both fighters emerge bigger; Pac however has become an ATG in my mind. Truly increadible performance.

I hope that in the following days you guys learn that Cotto fans, and Puerto Rican fans in general, don't make excuses. No hating, so don't make it up.

Please no more hating. Pac is not only beating people, but he is destroying people. He beat Cotto much worse than Margarito did becasue he also won 11 out of 12 rounds. Pac is a beast and an all time great. There is no doubt about it. I'm 31 and Ive been watching boxing since 1990. In my humble opinion he is the third best boxer to come around behind Roy Jones Jr. and Floyd Meayweather. While offensively I think he is behind only Roy and Tyson. But he could be the most offensively gifted fighter Ive seen too. If he and Floyd fight I predict he would loose a lopsided descision. Offence is great, it sells tickets, like the phoenix suns. But like the San Antonio Spurs defence wins championships.

How about 'The best defense is your offense'? I believed Spurs won not only because of their defense its more on their offense with Duncan, Parker & Ginobli.
You can relate Defense wins Championship to the 2004 NBA Champs - Detroit Pistons. They were the underdog against the Lakers but they won the series 4-1. Having said that, they killed the Lakers offense with their rough defense plus the fact that the Lakers superstars are struggling with each other, plus their backcourt duo of Billups & Hamilton.

Chigaco Bulls won mostly on offense as with their defense. Just like the Lakers last year. I think it should be balance good offense & good defense.

not hyped , cotto was good , it only finally prove that the margarito fight ended cottos career , the way his face easily cut and bruse and you just dont see anything of that instinc in his eyes .

The 49ers were offensive juggernauts that ruled the 80's against the best defensive NFL teams.
