What would a belt have to do with P4P rankings? I am at a loss here. It is all about your talent and who you beat.

I mean I hold these P4P rankings stuff with a grain of salt, but I still cannot see how winning a belt has to do with it. It is how good you are as far as I can tell.

Cotto has never once fought one of his elite opponents at the time that they were either #1 and #2 in a division. That's why he gets criticized for winning vacant titles.

Who have others beaten for their belts? Cotto shouldn't have lost it in the first place. He still beat Mosley, C. Quintana, & Clottey. While Mayweather wouldn't fight any of those three and more.
