Beating Torres (first pro loss and by KO) Beating Quintana (First loss and by KO beating Judah (first KO loss) beating Shane Mosley (outboxing him) beating Clottey (And first opponent ever to knock him down) also, all of these guys were in their prime, and his only loss came against a guy with casts on his hands. Sure, it isn't on Manny's level, but what exactly did Oscar do that was better than Cotto?
Beat an old Chavez, beating Vargas and beating Quartey? He lost to Mosley twice, Trinidad, Hopkins, Mayweather and Manny. Sure, he may have faced the best competition but he didn't win anything and he's held higher in terms of skill than Cotto which is garbage IMO. And come Nov. 14 we'll see how Cotto does against Manny, should he win that he'll have already accomplished two things Oscar didn't. I'm not trying to take anything away from Oscar but no matter how badly you try to discredit Cotto he's done more than you could ever hope to take away from him.
