He's comparing him with Tyson in style, not with Whittaker. You should read more carefully.

And according to Schaefer, Don King has options on Haye's next three fights!

This will tie Haye up for a couple of years until the Klitschkos get old.
Provided Haye beats Ruiz in style, Schaeffer and Sauerland will do everything in their power to make Haye vs. one of the Klitschkos happen. And there would be too much money in the fight for K2 to want to turn it down. King is only involved indirectly due to his link-up with Sauerland, but for him, too, there would be far too much money in that fight for him to try to stop it, and he couldn't stop it anyway, with Schaeffer and Sauerland determined to make it happen, with HBO keen on it, and with K2 also very interested.

But Haye needs to knock out Ruiz first. A bad performance against Ruiz and all bets would be off.

He's fought one, and is about to fight another, so you can stop complaining now.

I'm a big Cotto fan and believes Cotto is going to be impressive against Pac. But I tend to agree with Roach's comments about Cotto's corner and how much he is the boss. I know that Pac is the boss in his corner but Freddy has a lot of imput. I really don't know how much imput Joe Santiago has with Miguel's corner. I think you need someone in the corner to wake your ass up if your making mistakes during the fight. I remeber Felix Sr. slapping his son Tito in the corner to keep him focused. I remember Dundee with his shouting spurts to Leonard. We'll see on Saturday how much of an impact Santiago will be in Cotto's corner. Hopefully, it will not make a difference. Go Cotto.

But his health permitting, Haye will next make a mandatory defense against John Ruiz. The plan then would be to unify the title with one of the Klitschkos - Vitali or Wladimir - before fighting a rematch with Valuev.

That was Wednesday's word from Richard Schaefer, the Golden Boy Promotions CEO who just returned from Germany after watching Haye, of England, win a majority decision over the 7-foot Russian behemoth. Haye is co-promoted by Golden Boy and Hayemaker Promotions.

Sauerland Event, which co-promotes Valuev along with Don King, will play a role in those aforementioned bouts as Schaefer confirmed the company does have options on Haye's next three fights because Valuev's defense against Haye was voluntary and not mandatory.

"The fact is they are going to be involved in David Haye's next three fights," said Schaefer to BoxingScene.com. He wasn't certain if King would be included, but that if he is, "it would be on the side of the Sauerland equation."

There was a rematch clause for Valuev in the contract for Saturday's fight with Haye, but Schaefer said it did not stipulate the rematch had to be immediate. Thus the plan for Haye to first fight Ruiz and then one of the Klitschkos. [details]

Wlads schedule is busy, he will be fighting chambers and povetkin next. Looks like Haye has no choice but to fight Vitali! War Vitali!

I thought Santiago did very well in the corner against Clottey.

+1 Cotto`s team did great! It`s amazing that they managed to deal with that cut for 9+ rounds and it didn`t get much worse through the rounds.

But also psychologically. Cotto finished strongly, despite the cut. Santiago deserves a lot of credit for keeping him positive.

king got haye the title shot, got him a 7 digit paycheck & only has control of him for 3 fights.ruiz, then vitali & whoever else.vitali will beat haye so the valuev rematch won't happen.haye said he wants to retire soon so a ruiz & klit fight will make him rich.although I said before ruiz is not a for sure win.King is 78 & haye/klitschko is what will make him $.the klit fight also gets king back in the hbo fold.haye made the right move going with king.king got him a much better deal than the klits offered...so all you klit fans who said they will never fight haye don't look so smart now.$$$$ talks & now haye is in great position to negotiate a fair deal & not get screwed by the klits with 3 fight rematch clauses.I took heat for saying haye was a genious for screwing the klits & I proved I was right...haye has a title!
