Cotto: "Margarito in The Past, My New Chapter is Now"

I think you should be getting hit with greenk for your point on quotes on this thread. Regardless of fan base or who likes who...Not giving Cotto is fair credit is wrong in all ways. (im not to crazy about the ass lubing vid i seen the other day) but still...He is a very dangerous fighter for Pac. As for the WW division I can think of no other fighter that im honestly concerned about beating Pac than Cotto. Not SSM or Mayweather!!! Great quotes though man...when i can give up green ill hit you up.Oh man, you really have no idea what you are talking about. Please, go watch each of those fights you just mentioned again, please. There is a difference between taking the punch away and being able to TAKE the punch. Mosley, Margarito and Clottey have NEVER been knocked out in their careers when the fought Cotto. And Margarito was the only who had ever been KNOCKED DOWN in their career at that point. So why is it expected that Cotto KO these guys in order to have power?
Also, none of those guys neutralized anything Cotto did with the exception of Clottey who has possibly the best defense in boxing outside of Mayweather. Margarito was eating left hands ALL night, not even in the first 6 if Cotto threw it, it was landing. Mosley got hit countless times with it, WATCH the fight again its on youtube. Clottey got hit with it as well, and the ones that came at the end of the 10th, just look at his face, he was surprised they hit as hard as they did.
People constantly bring up Cotto's KO status against elites... but those three elites in over 120 professional fights has NO knockout losses and only ONE, ONE knockdown in their career's. You have NO idea what you are talking about, if you want to have a discussion on this after you do some research and watch all those fights I mentioned feel free to come back, but don't spew you're garbage when you have no clue what you are talking about, and its apparent because you are wrong.
Oh yea, and one more thing. The knockdown that put Judah on his ass and essentially is what ended the fight was a right hand from a "Manny angle." I mean really, don't even watch the fights just stop responding in any Cotto threads because you know absolutely nothing.Comment

Wow, I just put the reason why Cotto wasn't able to hurt those guys and you still discredit the left even more. No **** Cotto didn't hurt them, because all of them have IRON chins, they've never been hurt against anyone before. But you are trying to cover your ass, just stop. You can't say they neutralized it, which is exactly what you said, and I point out that they just took the punch and you reply the same thing once you got called out. Mosley wasn't backing up Cotto till later in the fight, yet Cotto was still winning the rounds with counter punching, again with the left hook. The only time that Cotto hurt one of those guys with a left hook was against Clottey at the end of the 10th or 11th round because he had his feet set to punch. I'm not saying he didn't land any left hooks on these guys, I am just saying that they were not effective on them because they had him backing up. Ricky Hatton had a pretty good left hook too, and look what happened there. He has faster feet than Cotto does and cuts the ring off better. The thing that evens that out a little bit is Cotto's size and longer reach. If Pacquiao can do a combination of good boxing and backing Cotto up to go along with it, Cotto is toast.
Also, Hatton doesn't cut off the ring for **** because he just grabs and holds his opponent, that isn't cutting off the ring. Watch Cotto in the Clottey fight, round 6, watch the Paulie fight, the Quintana fight, the Judah fight. He cuts off the ring better than just about anyone in boxing right now, without holding or clinching that's cutting off the ring. I mean I can go in there and run at Manny and hold his ass, but what would happen? Exactly what happened to Hatton a vicious left because I'm too worried about holding him than I am about trapping him. Again... just go away you're only making it worse for yourself, I'm trying to help you here, I really really am.Comment

Ah, well thank you for clarifying that for me, doesn't make my point stronger but it certainly doesn't take away from it either.Comment

but apparently I gotta spread the love before I could give you some Green..
You shut this thread down!...and like you mentioned..those guys are made of IRON..it's obvious why Cotto couldn't hurt them..Comment

Cotto, I sure hope you are past that loss because it has yet to be seen if you really are. Based on pics & video of Cotto he looks extemely focused and prepared mentally ( which is always the most important ) but you can never tell with this guy he has no facial expressions.
Im sick and tired of hearing that De La Hoya was drained, Ok we get it he was drained because it had been years since he's seen 147 so what? He was not ready for Pac's speed, power & skill period. De La Hoya just did not have any answers and even if he wasn't drained it would be the same dam outcome. Nacho didn't help either I mean his gameplan was to fight Pac like Marquez and DLH is not or fights in no way like Marquez.
Cotto is a beast and will be the victor if "Margarito" is really behind him if not he may have problems with Pac's outstanding footwork. Im glad Cotto is fresh of a recent fight so he really didn't even get a chance to stay out of shape. The only downside is that eyebrow of his, I recently saw a Pic of him and it looked like a fresh scar, he had a slit on his eyebrow. I would really hate to see that cut re-open, that would interfere with being able to see Cotto's full on 110% performance.Comment
