Paul Williams - the most overrated of his generation?

I don't think Paul Williams is overrated - he's avoided for a good reason. He KOed Quintana in the rematch.

Chad Dawson is overrated though, that's why he keeps hand-picking 40 year old over-the-hill opponents.

I don't want to say he's overrated, but he's certainly over hyped. Yahoo his him #3 P4P, and that is by far the most overrated spot for him, I'd maybe put him in the 9 or 10 spot simply because he hasn't fought any relevant, except for an old Winky Wright after a two year layoff. He could be a great great fighter, but its too early to tell right now, if he faces Pavlik and wins, moves up to 168 and beats AA and/or Kessler, then we can start putting in way high in the P4P status, until then just like him its all talk.

Quintana did win clearly but it wasn't exactly a schooling.

So according to your logic Max Schmeling's 12th round KO over Louis was more impressive than Joe louis 1st round KO over Schmeling ? You have strange logic.

He won clearly and outboxed him convincingly thus schooling him.He confused and frustrated the **** out of Paul Williams,he moved and created angles,used head movement(something Williams has never heard of)and countered him at every oppurtunity and beat him to the punch with the cleaner,more effective punches throughout the fight, and the decision was not in doubt to anyone but Harold Leddermans suspect judging.

Williams got schooled,just as Joe Louis got schooled and knocked out.Perhaps you should stick to MMGAY and all their glass jawed fighters getting knocked out in the first round,it's quite clear that is what is impressive to you.

While I'm not convinced Paul Williams can handle a good mover (he KO'd Quintana too fast to see if he could and fix his weakness), Jeff lacy was easily the most overrated fighter of the last couple of years
