Williams is not a draw. Yet. He might very possibly be a superstar at this time next year, but today he cannot draw flies to a ****.
As for the other 2, well the list is mine. I don't like cheaters (goes for Toney as well).Comment

Well he is still way more famous than the likes of Lucian Bute, Arthur Abraham and Kelly Pavlik. Without a doubt.
And even though SSM has a shady past he is still also way more famous than the likes of Lucian Bute, Arthur Abraham and Kelly Pavlik.Comment

What will the top 10 boxingstars globally look like today?
Pretty difficult because how do you measure stardom?
Is it a question of:
A: how big a gate you make?
B: How big a purse you command?
C: How many people know who you are?
D: Etc.
Plenty of options. I find it impossible to make a list objectively, but from a global perspective with my own undefined subjective criterias, my top 10 boxing stars looks like this:
1: Manny Pacquiao
2: Floyd Mayweather
3: Miguel Cotto
4: Wlad Klitschko
5: Vitali Klitschko
6: Ricky Hatton
7: Bernard Hopkins
8: Arthur Abraham
9: Kelly Pavlik
10: Mikkel Kessler
11: Lucien Bute
Hmm.... looking at it it might be slightly biased towards europeans although I cannot really say who should replace who. Do you?
EDIT: I've put in Hatton at no.6. Everybody else drops one place accordingly.
6 do you not listen, lol haton is top 3 and i don't even like the guy. the big 4 were pac, floyd, oscar and hatton, thats why they all fought each other, because they knew they would generate the most cash because of their stardom. oscar was top because he is oscar, but the hatton might have a case for being bigger star than floyd anyway. hatton has far more fans, and who actually travel in mass, something floyd fans would never do. he even gets more at his weigh in than floyd does for his fights, but then manny has a whole nation behind him.Comment

RJJ might beat the other guys in regards to fame and if that was the main criteria in my (subjective) list, he would be there. Boxers on my list do however need to have some ability and badassness to be able to crack my top 10.Comment

I cannot put Hatton higher because he does not have the ability he had last year (before he became a HW).
Of course your point about Hatton's fans are valid. It's all about how much emphasis you put into that criteria when defining 'stardom'.Comment

Well I don't really know your defenition of a global star but my take on it is how famous you are. How good or how badass the fighter is, is completley irrelevant.Comment

If it's solely based on fame you would have to include Holyfield and perhaps also retired fighters (Oscar).
My criterias isn't clear at all. It's a highly subjective list. I might not be able to define precisely what it takes to be on MY list, but I feel I objectively can defend the guys I've put on the list (if that makes any sense).Comment

you have to take into account marketability, global awarness, ppv sales(the bottom line really) and filling out a venue and how much the casinos are bidding. Take all that into account hatton is top 3 and if you can't undertand this you have a scewed sense of reality and live in your own imaginary reality. It does not go on how good a boxer, or if you past peak rjj style, of have a dodgy past, the 10 top ten global stars are the what they are, not what you or me think of them.I do listen, but the list is mine! Lol.

Post up your own list then dip****, so we can all pick holes in it.you have to take into account marketability, global awarness, ppv sales(the bottom line really) and filling out a venue and how much the casinos are bidding. It's one thing to slate other people's lists, but making your own is completely different.Comment
