Oh wait, 10-10 rounds... Fuck that. I just don't agree with it. Too subjective, not enough consistency, and a lazy way to score.
Amen to that. And if Im not mistaken, theres some sactioning bodies that dont allow even rounds anymore unless point deductions!

Anyways, you right Cotto-Clottey was imposible to score it a draw!

They stole the win for Cotto much like they did when he faced Mosley too, disgraceful

I had Cotto 1 up felt Clottey was winning but let it go when he let Cotto box him he should of stayed on him and he would of got the decision imo

The judge who scored it 116-111 for Cotto was obviously favoring Cotto hitting Clotteys forearms and gloves. Oh and is it coincidence that all 3 judges most notable fights were all past Cotto fights?

Anyways I was just wondering why is the decision in this fight not talked about much on this site?
just look at the compustats.... clottey lost because he took his foot off the gas pedal.

Well it's the 10-point must system, isn't it? The perceived loser of a clean round has to get 9 points only, no matter how close it was. Even if it means picking a round winner at random, just do an eeny-meeny if it was really that close. Giving the round to both fighters just seems lazy to me.

Also, I completely disagree with scoring 10-8 rounds on the basis of "domination", but without a KD. The only way I'll score 10-8 to the round loser is if there's a KD or a foul. That's it. I don't care how much the loser was being dominated - if he didn't go down, he should still get 9 points.

However (and I've only recently evaluated my stance on this), if the round winner also suffers a KD then I'll score it 9-8. Idiots such as Lederman tend to have it 10-10 if both fighters hit the floor, but again that's just lazy. Case in point being the opening round of Maidana-Ortiz - both suffered KDs, but Maidana won that round IMO. Hence, 9-8 for Maidana.

The fact that some of you can call this a robbery with a straight face is comical.

115-112 Clottey.....since when did a flash knockdown make a difference in a close fight.......since when?!?......because on April 19, 2008 that knockdown making a difference in a close fight didn't seem to matter!!....especially on here
