The real pressure is on Pacman. How Pac fight the first 3 rds is going to dictate what his presence will be like in the later rounds. Cotto usually become stronger during the later rounds. I believe going down the stretch Cotto size and strenght will pose serious problems for Pacman. Cotto has been known to make adjustments during fights if plan A doesn't work. I don't know if Pacman can do that! Unless Pacman gets Cotto respect early, he will be in for a BIG surprise going into the later rounds. Cotto is going to bring pressure. Unlike Ricky Hatton and Oscar De La Hoya, Cotto will be right there after eating some Pacman's most devistating punches. What will that do to Pacman's confidence? That's the unknown. Cotto is a true welterweight who has only lost one fight and that fight was SUSPECT... I don't believe this fight will go the distance. When Pacman fought Oscar Dela Hoya, he hit Oscar with every power punch he had and still could not knock him down. Just think, Cotto is stronger than Oscar. On the other hand, if Cotto get Pacman hurt in any round, he will definately KO Pacman. It's going to be goodnite Irene. Only serious problem I see for Cotto is... he gets cut early in the fight and somehow the fight is stopped and it ins up in the hands of the judges. Pacman will get the FAVOR. Las Vegas is his home. Madison Square Garden is Cotto's home. Go Figure! The clock is ticking....

For Pac to win this fight he needs to keep up a tenacious tempo. Something he has done in the past because of his tremendous endurance. At the same time he cannot get hit with flush shots like he did with Marquez. If he gets hit with several solid shots by Cotto it will make him more prone to take less chances to go in with hisatented straight lefts. He needs to be relentless against Cotto.
For Cotto, he needs to be patient. This is not a hundred yard dash, it's a marathon. Pacquiao will look very impressive in the beginning. Cotto needs to feel Pacquaio out in the first several rounds. He can't afford to get gassed out in a high paced fight early. He can take the first several roundsto set the pace while taking some shots from Pacquiao because his has already proven he can take shots from some very good bigger guys. So Cotto needs to pace himself and pace the fight using his solid jab.
That being said, there will be a lot of nervous energy in the beginning. Pacquiao will ignite the Vegas crowd early. If Cotto can find a way to set a pace early and remain fresh by the fifth round I expect Cotto to pick up the pace in the middle rounds. If Pacquiao hits Cotto with everything but the kitchen sink early in the fight and Cotto is still standing and pressuring Pac, I see Pac slowing a bit in the middle to late rounds causing Pac to make some mistakes. If the stronger, bullish Cotto begins to land hard shots in those rounds I see Pac in a position he hasn't experienced in a long time. Cotto remains in war mode since the Clottey fight. Pac's last fight was an impressive early KO of Hatton. I would have of liked to seen more in that fight with Hatton but Hatton was taylor made for Pac.
Prediction... A freakin gem of a fight!!! Pac doing his thing early landing some beautiful combinations with the crowd roaring waving that beautiful Pinoy flag... starts to get tight in the middle rounds with Cotto setting a pace to suit him using that stiff hard jab... Cotto beginning to land some flush hard shots... Pacs starts to look a little sluggish because of the blows... in the late rounds those Cotto punches take a really bad effect on Pac... the Puerto Rican crowd senses Cotto can take Pac out at any moment... there is a sense of disbelief within the Pac contingency with many of them wondering what is going on with their brave fighter... in the end the accumulative solid shots by Cotto will be evident on Pac's face... finally Freddy Roach decides to end the fight to protect his pride and joy... Cotto raises his hands almost as if he's in disbelief and emotional... the Cotto corner rushes him and lift him in the air... a sea of Puerto Rican flags dominate the MGM grand with a deafening roar... what a fight!!!!!!!!!Comment

I belive that manny whont be abel to take cottos punches cotto has lots of power in his punches i see cotto sleeping manny with the jab cuting the ring of to a coner and BOOM every one nose whats next the KO manny may be fast but the speed could be neutrolise by power just like cotto did in the judah and mosley fight remember manny has never face a true welterweight before this is his first time fighting a real welterweight and lots of people are taking cotto as and underdog the same thing they did wen he battle judah and mosley to me thats and error thats gives your oponent more confident and more motovation to win a fight and show people they were wrong I belive cotto KO manny around the 9 round or freddy roch trows in the towel for pacquiao not to get hurt.I saw the barrera fight and the marquez fight and manny is real bad taking bodyshots it slows him down and backs him up.Comment

Judah was fast and gave Cotto all sorts of problems, making him dance around the ring in that first round. BUT, Judah doesn't have 1/10th the heart and endurance to keep that speed and work-rate up for more than 5 rounds and this cost him against Cotto. Pac has everything Judah has X10. The Puerto Rican is going to have no more needs for trips to the salon to get those eye brows tweezed, Pac is going to permanently tattoo on him a nice set of eyebrows this Saturday.Comment
