Well obviously if you are fighting someone with EQUAL talent you aren't always going to win.

Maybe, but he looked pretty good against Glen Johnson both times, particularly in the rematch. That was a pretty good win for him. Hindsight is 20/20, I guess but Tarver was a big favorite in odds and boxing circles.

the absolute greats at least break even or have more wins than losses...hopkins lets see:

        tarver - win
        jones - loss
        taylor 2x - loss
        calzaghe - loss

        total tally - 1 win 4 losses = 25%

What's the difference between a great and an absolute great, in your opinion? And why do you foolishly pretend Hopkins killed himself to make weight for over a decade?

you just helped me prove that tarver was nothing special...

he fought johnson after the ko to jones, lost motivation, and lost....he's supposed to dominate fighters like glen johnson the first time around if he was the real deal...

I don't think he lost motivation. I think the fact that he had two tough fights after Jones and won shows he didn't. And why is he supposed to "dominate" Glen Johnson? When was the last time someone did that? Oh wait...

                  simple:

answer to first question - look at who i consider absolute greats who are hopkins peers, srl and hagler, beat in relation to size matchup, then look at hopkins, then report back to me...even fmj and manny pac are in on the plus side when it comes beating bigger fighters...

i'll answer the second question in a second...

So Hopkins isn't as good as Hagler and Leonard. Ok.
