Double standards with Chad Dawson and Miguel Cotto.

People are calling Chad Dawson a boring fighter for boxing and using movement. But Cotto runs for his life and really doesn't even box against Mosley and Clottey toward the end and runs like Michael Johnson against Margarito for the whole fight. But he's praised as a warrior. I'm confused.

You've obviously haven't seen Miguel Cotto fight, and almost nobody critizices Dawson for boxing and movement, it's just because of his performances, people wanted him to win clearly and he did. It just depends on the opponent and what type of fight Dawson is allowed to do.

I think it has to do with the standards people give each fighter. I dont think Cotto was ever held to the standards of Dawson.

Dawson is a really quick boxer who can throw mean combos.. I believe why people somethig against him, is because he doesn't use that skill set to destroy guys more easily.. Thats just my opinion.

I like Dawson though, and I thought he fought a smart fight.. It was boring, because it wasn't competitive, not because it was a bad choice of fighting by Dawson.

The difference is Dawson started getting on his bicycle while riding it fast when he had already dominated the fight. Cotto started running against Clottey and Mosley when it was far from a forgone conclusion of who the judges had ahead in the fight.

Cotto landed hard punches in all those fights and all 3 where exciting fights. hell, you can take Dawson's entire career and it wont be as exaiting as 3 rounds of any Cotto fight!

Cotto, vs Mosley or Cotto vs Torres, or Cotto vs Malignaggi, you name it, **** on anything Dawson have done!!

I think if I had to buy a career DVD set, I'd go with Cotto any day of the week. I'm just saying that he gets on his bicycle similar to what Dawson does when he's fatigued or hurt.
