I didnt really think it would get any coverage here, Froch has had no air time at all before his fights but this fight seems to be fairly big it had its own news article on prime time bbc news on thursday and has been all over the papers. Its good for boxing in the UK hopefully BBC might pick up the re run like they did with Haye vs Enzo
Anyone else suprised by the amount of coverage that Haye vs Valuev has got?

People want an exciting HW scene, it's good for boxing. So when an interesting matchup like this comes along it generates more interest than the Froch fight.Comment

it is interesting. No one was that bothered when haye beat mormeck and was a legitimate undisputed world champion, but when hes fighting a giant russian all of a sudden everyone gives a crap. I dont think its even to do with the fact that its heavyweight, therefore the holy grail of the sport, i think its to do with the fight having a 'hook'. A selling point. David vs Goliath, man vs the monster blah blah blah.
It is amazing how much coverage this fight has gotten. was totally unexpected for meComment

Just shows how poor the HW scene is when Haye can fight for a belt on his second fight!
I think there are a lot of selling points to this fight. It's almost like a Rocky movie, a seemingly impossible mismatch, but... what if?Comment

I'm very surprised with how much coverage and build up hype there has been.
I'm surprised there hasnt been hardly any build up to the pac cotto fight aswell.
And like someone said i hope bbc or sky will show re runs aswellComment

It's been fairly well promoted by Hayes team really, goes to show some of this stuff really needs to come back as it grips more of the commercial publics interests.
This is all despite Setanta going under, and Sky Box Office picking it up now, which as far as I know it would have been free for Setanta subscribers or a small fee for non?
Can't comment out of UK but it should be getting good attention really.Comment
