Mayweathers SPEED Killed Marquez...NOT his SIZE.

It wasn't Floyd's size, it was Marquez's.
He gained too much weight and was slower.
That said, Floyd would've beat Marquez at any weight.Comment

you do realize that marquez was slowed down a lot by putting on the weight
floyd defensive would be the deciding factor against a much faster Marquez than we last saw in a lower weight classes match.Comment

Kids like you dont know ****!!! about Boxing, i swear!!
Weight was a factor because when you are getting hit by a bigger man it makes no difference if he is trying to dominate you with his technical ability rather than his physically strength, he is still able to hit you harder than most people have hit you in your career, that can change your decision on when to attack, how many chances to take, how much pressure you put on, it can change game plans and tactics, fighters like to go out and establish respect!!! when they fight someone to let them know they cant walk in the front door, but when the guy your fighting is a LW who cant hurt you, thus meaning you can take more liberties and apply more pressure knowing that your punches are!! hurting him because he is not a WW then you start to understand.
That is without talking about how he looked in his recent fights, where he clearly looked like he was starting to slide, still a good fighter but not the fighter he was, add a few pounds, turn him into a fat guy with no speed because of the weight then ..........
Mayweather looked spectacular because of all these intangibles.
Also Mayweather was able to push Marquez off with his elbow very easily even when Marquez was in mid-combination a few times, it made Marquez square up and lose his balance. That never would have happened to Marquez at a lower weight.Comment

This is old news. And rubbish as well. Had PBF dominated JMM at JWW nobody could complain. It was a mismatch based on styles as is. At WW, the mismatch was elevated to being an atrocity. I like PBF but he deserves no credit for that victory.Comment

JMM had no business fighting at 147 (and picking Floyd for his 1st attempt) and Floyd backed out on their catch weight agreement. JMM actually tried to make the catch but Floyd said "**** that."
JMM's best weight right now -- factoring his age -- is back down at lightweight (135) even if he still looks slow there... but he's getting a bit long in the tooth so... 135.
He's just not a weight jumping phenom like Pac.Comment
