Floyd has never taken a fight he wasn't 100% confident he would dominate in. He hasn't had fixes but he definitely has hand chosen opponents. Sooner or later, you have to take a chance.

Dude, how bad are you contradicting yourself? Jesus!

You give Williams credit for fighting a rematch with Quintana (a journeyman type fighter), you then say Floyd has never taken a fight he wasn't 100% confident he would dominate and he's never challenged himself.

Have you ever heard the name Jose Luis Castillo? Floyd gave him an immediate rematch after most fans thought he lost.

Was that not a challenge? Was that a fight Floyd was 100% confident he would win? I doubt it.

I took that as a compliment to Williams when ra said he said Williams would beat his ass.

I agree about Floyd needing to risk it more but I dont know that that will happen, funny thing is he runs the risk that he will lose to an underdog in a stunning upset which will make the loss even worse.

How is that a contradiction? How the *** is Quintana a journeyman fighter? He was a top level prospect until he lost to Cotto and then came out and beat P. Williams...

Maybe you need to learn about boxing before you post ****** ****. Quintana may not be considered a pound 4 pound guy now but you have to take the time in which Williams fought him into account.

It's easy to look back now and see certain things after the fact but Quintana went the distance with Cotto and then beat Williams. He wasn't some journeyman fighter like you said, he was a top prospect who had been int here with some of the best in the weight class.

Sounds more like a critique of society at large than any one man. Our society is becoming more and more narcissistic. They call women hoes, don't believe in family, love, or the divine.. and don't give a **** generally, about anyone but themselves. Why blame Floyd entirely for riding the wave that society generates?

You think HE created this generation?

That's giving one man way too much credit and/or blame.

I think RA was being a little over the top when he said things like "Floyd you have only fought *****'s" or "Floyd you ain't never fought nobody".

Those things are silly, Floyd has fought some great fighters in his time and beat them all. (Well I actually thought Castillo I he lost)

The thing is, RA is 100% right in that Floyd legacy will be remembered by who he fought. Boxing is like college football in that, you are ranked or rate on strength of schedule. Floyd is a great fighter, a HOF no doubt but for him to say he's the greatest of all time, that's ridiculous. He has to fight the greatest in order to be considered the greatest.

Imagine if Ray Leonard never fought Hagler or Hearns? Would we have the same level of respect for Leonard now? Hell no, not even close.

I think when Mayweather said this line, he said everything I needed to hear, "Legacy doesn't pay bills". Wow, that one broke my heart, seriously because you can tell what is important to him. Money, money, money...I mean his name IS Money Mayweather right?

Say what you want about DLH but at least DLH wasn't motivated by money his entire career. He fought the best and challenged himself. I remember an interview where DLH said, "I have all the money in the world I need, now it's about my legacy".

If that same thought was in Floyds heart, us as fans would get great fights and no matter the outcome, I would respect Floyd that much more. Then he wonders why he isn't the most loved athlete in the U.S.....

Floyd is great, just not the greatest. He failed to fight Margarito, Cotto, Mosley and P. Williams in their prime. Then again, he made it very clear that he doesn't care about legacy, all he cares about is the money. The sad thing is, a lot of his fans follow those exact thoughts.

We have an entire generation with no heart, no integrity. Sad........

Green K your way, Because i couldnt listen to the audio and have been looking for someone who can actually offer an unbiase opinion about what was said, I didnt want the ususally "Mayweather got owned" and i didnt want RA is an idiot stuff from the Haters and stans.

I just wanted a little opinion and you sir laid it out for me perfectly thank you..

Biased or not RA spoke the truth and Floyd couldn't handle it. The truth is if you tell everybody that you are the greatest than you better back it up.

Great post, green k coming your way. What I heard was RA tell Floyd what every fan has been thinking, and Floyd put his foot in his mouth, but he needed to hear it. I lost alot of respect for him, he might be one of the best fighters of this generation, but his opponents will turn him into a footnote in the history of boxing.

I understand your point but in reality, I think that Floyd should be more responsible than the avg dude being influenced on the street. Floyd has a career that has taken him to anywhere he wants to go and have anything he wants. He should be more introspective and see that life is more than just money, especially when you already have money. He should want to be remembered as the greatest.

No problem, I just thought I would put my opinion down and I love boxing more than any other sport and it's such a huge part of my life, I'm just glad someone like RA spoke some truths...

Great post, even if floyd fought another great fighter & lost, that would not diminish his standing,it would make it better!!But if the guy never fights legite opponents, history will remember him as just that!!
