Was Marquez a good win for Mayweather?

If Floyd hadn't fought JMM, JMM would still be hovering around the WW situation, because he made it clear his intent to chase Pac up in weight.

When you dominate and virtually wipe wash the number #2 P4P fighter in the world, after a 2 year lay off, who most thought had beat the number #1 P4P in the world of course it is impressive.

And the scary thing is Mayweather didnt even have to come out of second gear in the entire fight.

And yes Mayweather did have alot of size on Marquez, but in the old days the likes of Sam Langford and Henry Armstrong would give just as much weight and even more than JMM and still beat the best around.

So you can't take all Mayweathers credit away. As fighters stepping up in weight can be very dangerous especailly when they are world class like JMM.

Actually, no because no one was calling Floyd to fight Marquez. Sure, tons of people saw JMM as P4P #2, but behind Manny not Floyd. People have been clamoring for Floyd to fight a WW, not a lightweight. Add to the fact that 90% of the people in the world saw this fight as a total mismatch it wouldn't have been Floyd ducking Marquez it wouldn't have even been a thought as a match up.
