    NO.

Mayweather showed us he still has all his skills but come on, he did it against a slow, old lightweight that had absolutely no ability to beat him.

JMM is a big name but its not a resume building win for Floyd for obvious reasons.

DISCREDITED. for beating a lb4lb # 2 but a LW and he is a WW.

sample a michael jordan comeback to chicago and makes a good game with a

        collegiate team and wins.. wtf

MJ do magic and lose and won 3 champs again.

PBF should fought his size. a WW not a LW.

was alright. every win can be split into three categories; name value, where the opponent was at in their career & manner of victory

marquez has great name value and was beaten very decisively but was obviously not at his peak physical condition

Marquez is a great name at that weight? Not a chance.

When you considered the number of times Manny was able to put Juan on the canvas i would have thought there would be at least 2-3 knockdowns. Did not happen.

                It was an alright win.

Great fighter, but a lightweight fighting a welterweight.

what I find amazing is that people would have accused Floyd of ducking JMM if he hadn't fought JMM, just like they accuse him of ducking everyone else.

If Floyd hadn't fought JMM, JMM would still be hovering around the WW situation, because he made it clear his intent to chase Pac up in weight.

Again...Marquez intended to go up in weight, its not like Floyd forced him to

I view it as an ok win.

And the scary thing is Mayweather didnt even have to come out of second gear in the entire fight.

And yes Mayweather did have alot of size on Marquez, but in the old days the likes of Sam Langford and Henry Armstrong would give just as much weight and even more than JMM and still beat the best around.

So you can't take all Mayweathers credit away. As fighters stepping up in weight can be very dangerous especailly when they are world class like JMM.
Yes you can, styles make fights...

And 2 weight divisions against the previous p4p #1, is a ***** move

Actually, no because no one was calling Floyd to fight Marquez. Sure, tons of people saw JMM as P4P #2, but behind Manny not Floyd. People have been clamoring for Floyd to fight a WW, not a lightweight. Add to the fact that 90% of the people in the world saw this fight as a total mismatch it wouldn't have been Floyd ducking Marquez it wouldn't have even been a thought as a match up.
