Both Tarver and Johnson demanded those rematches - not Dawson's fault he ended getting unrequited love from those 2 old farts. And besides, people have been practically clamouring for this upcoming rematch (not me; I would've preferred Cloud or a step down to 168).

Why don't you like Dawson? He's a young talented fighter, he's classy, and he tried to get the best fighters in the division but they turned him down (Hopkins, Calzaghe). Dawson isn't afraid of anyone. He recieves more unwarranted criticism than any fighter alive. People bitched for months when he fought Tarver instead of a Johnson rematch. Then as soon as he announces the Johnson rematch, all the sudden he should've fought Cloud.

      And he already beat Adamek.

What's funny is I heard someone criticize Dawson wanting to "weasel" down to 168 to avoid the Johnson rematch. The reason Dawson wanted to go to 168 was to get fights with the Kesslers and Frochs of boxing.

So in other words, people will criticize him for fighting rematches against old fighters and they also criticize him for not wanting to fight old fighters and instead fight prime young figthers.

Dawson is damned if he does, damned if he don't. He's going to have to earn respect by just winning because apparently a lot of boxing fans will never be pleased with him.

Adamek was weight-drained. All Dawson's other wins have come over old men or clubfighters like Jesus Ruiz.

I would have respected Dawson if he fought Diaconu in Romania instead of dropping his WBC title, or fought Tavoris Cloud instead of dropping the IBF title.

The way he did it - not telling them he wasn't going to fight them, and so causing them to waste time waiting for him - was definitely low-class.

What does selling the fight have to do with anything? You guys have to get off this whole idea that the guys that sell the most are the best fighters. I personally think Haye will win. This fight is exciting because it could go either way. I can picture Valuev crashing to the ground which would be exciting and I can picture Haye getting beat up until he quits which would also be exciting do to Haye's trash talk. I don't understand how people can root for the loudmouth. I do like the way he fights though.

I'd take a dominant victory over a shot 37 year old Monte Barrett than a LOSS or albeit close decision against a shot 46 year old Evander Holyfield anyday.

Wait a second, Dawson was scheduled to fight Diaconu and Diaconu pulled out of the fight due to injury. So you say Dawson was scared to fight him? Diaconu was the one that pulled out the first time. After that, yes, Chad opted to fight Tarver who had a belt, name recognition, and provided Chad's first big pay day instead of going to Romania.

Let's flip the script for a moment. Let's say you're Wlad scheduled to fight David Haye (young power puncher like Diaconu) in your hometown of Germany (for boxing anyway). Then Haye pulls out of the fight (like Diaconu).

Now imagine a year later they want you (Wlad) to take a trip to England to fight Haye.

Isn't that what happened? Haven't you said before that Haye doesn't deserve another fight with the Klitchckos? Why is it different for Chad Dawson?

                      Here's the history of Dawson-Diaconu:

late 2006, duck #1: Dawson was supposed to fight Diaconu in an eliminator, but applied to the WBC for an exception and went striaght to Adamek in early 2007

June 2007, duck #2: Dawson was supposed to fight Diaconu who was now his mandatory, but applied to the WBC for a vlountary defense against a terrible opponent Jesus Ruiz.

Sept 2007: Dawson-Diaconu was delayed because of an injury to Diaconu

Jan 2008, duck #3: Dawson ducks Diaconu for the third time, applies to the WBC to get an exception to fight 40 year old Johnson rather than Diaconu, and the WBC agrees and instead, Diaconu fights for an interim title

June 2008, duck #4: Dawson decides to duck Diaconu for the 4th time, and drops his WBC title and fights 40 year old Tarver instead

Sept 2009: Dawson decides to duck Tavoris Cloud, and to drop his IBF title so he can have a rematch with 40 year old Johnson.

Dawson blatently ducks Diaconu FOUR times, and Tavoris Cloud once. ONE time their fight had to be postponed because of an injury to Diaconu, but that's not a duck.
