A very good question I've been wanting to ask. Would Cotto/ Clottey help Fire Power's numbers? Only asking.

      Yes, he did.

It is unfortunate that Jimmy Kimmel is the lowest rated of the late night shows, and it comes on after midnight.
lol, now compare that to chelsea lately or wwe raw

late night network tv >>>> cable

Only among hardcores. Why did DLH-Mayweather do so well?

Because it was promoted half decent and it got people who don't care about boxing into it in a sense. People bought that ****.

It received mainstream press and a lot of play.

I just hate to think someone like Kimbo Slice would get more play than this .

Was wondering because Cotto's performance against Clottey wasn't good at all; also running in the 2nd half.

            Where Reed?

I have over 5000 channels and can't seem to find a Cotto-Pacquiao commercial unless i tune in to HBO.

If people think May-dlh doing 2 million was a big feat, well they wouldn't last long in advertising.

I don't get why they don't try new things.
              J-Reck...

I can tell you: Budgets. Understanding the metrics. Understanding demographics.

I used to work with Pepsi. I have rolled out many new products. For example, say a CPG company is launching out a new product. If the NAR (national annual revenue) is $100 Mn, the first year budget may be $10 Mn just on advertising. At a company like Proctor & gamble, even higher.

Can you imagine walking into Arum's office and asking for $6-10 million for A&M? He would throw you out of a window.

Secondly, nobody in boxing understand "impressions" and ROI. They spend money, and never do a post-mortem on if the spend was appropriate. A good example is the banner that has run on the top of THIS Nsb page for the past month. Why in the heck are you advertising the fight TO US?!

We can tell you Manny's wife's name ferchrissakes. You are preaching to the choir. Redirect that advertising budget to gain NEW fans. A banner ad will not convince a single NSB'er to buy or not buy the fight.

I see posters on here all the time make the most ridiculous statements about marketing and promotion. Floyd was on DWTS for five weeks. 20 million viewers EACH WEEK. Even if he got 1% of those 100 million impressions to view/buy the fight... get it?

Demographics: HBO understands it. GBP does. Shane doesn't. Most posters on here don't.

There is wide variety in acculturation within and amongthe Hispanic community. Some homes speak predominantly Spanish. For those homes, your ad needs to run on UNI and Tele. You can do that with Marquez. You can't do that with Shane.

You can have Marquez on Republica Deportiva pulling in a new demographic. Shane and Floyd would appeal to the same (limited) groups.

I can go on and on...I won't bore you.

                1. every prospect should have a facebook/*******/youtube page.

                2. good fights by prospects that were not televised should be emailed to boxing fans. (how hard is it to buy boxingscene's , east side , sherdog's email list?)

                3. undercard fights not shown on tv should be streamed on the promoter's website.
A guy like Gato is a good self-promoter. He leverages SN a lot. So does Malignaggi. And Ishe.

Gato, for a guy of his stature in the game, does a great job.

Al, I understand about billions of impressions. Ask Makavelli what I do.
But you and I know what works and what these clowns don't do.

Now, this is where i won't blame you because you are merely misinformed.

So, i will respectfully educate you so you will know:

                      Last week:

WWE Raw: 5.4-5.7 million viewers (yes. on USA)

Kimmel: 1.4-1.5 million viewers (yes. On ABC)
