I would blame Arum's lackluster marketing effort if this event only manages to skirt the low end of expectations, although it is a difficult task to market two guys who do not speak english to the public and if not done correctly it can very easily backfire.
I harken back to some of the fights that JCC was able to engage in. He spoke no English. Tito spoke no Eng, but his opponents almost always did.

JC-Pernell did great. With JCC not being an English speaker, and with Pea not being the most fan-friendly cat.

It would be ideal. I have such wide range of interests though. I'm targeting ESPN Radio, Sports Illustrated, Focus Features, and Lionsgate.

Thanks for the heads up though. There are never enough options, and a PR firm where I could handle boxing is ideal as anything.

not of the magnitude of marquez/pbf. like i mentioned in another thread. Golden Boy is a power house at marketing. They promoted that fight everywhere. If PBS had a documentary on pottery making, GP found a way to promote the fight on it. Top Rank doesnt do that. They really need to step their promotional game up.

I think most boxing promotion is pretty pitiful and hearkens back to the 1950's.

With all the modern modes of communication, the promoters are stuck in old school ways.

That goes for the DLH's the Mayweathers and everyone else.

They seriously don't know how to create a buzz for anything these days in boxing.

What the hell else could you have meant by "buzz" other than advertisement or acknowledgment? and to answer your question about Tide yes.....how else would they create a buzz about a product without getting its name out there.

              This thread is pointless.

                boxing needs more viral promotions.

they're cheap to produce and very effective.

It can be done but it takes a lot of effort and is not that easy to do. They did some marketing but really for a big fight they seemed to have a bare bones marketing plan. To me for a big fight a promoter should be pulling out all the stops, and to me Arum did nothing like that he did some things but it is closer to the minimum then above and beyond the call of duty.

If I could give you K, I would.

That is exactly my point. From a fan activation standpoint, boxing does a terible job. DLH, GBP and FMJ does the best of the lot.

TR is anachronistic in their approach. Friggin' dinosaur.
