they're cheap to produce and very effective.

No one even trys to think out of the box.

They just did what they always did and get what they always got.

If people think May-dlh doing 2 million was a big feat, well they wouldn't last long in advertising.

I don't get why they don't try new things.

      Not at all.

The casual fans that I have invited didn't know until i invited them.

"Hey want to come see Cotto vs Pacquiao on Nov 14th at my crib?"

"Oh, they're going to fight???? Alright I will go"

      Mayweather-Marquez

"Hey do you want to come see Mayweather-Marquez at my crib on Sept 19th?"

"Hell yeah, I'm seeing ads of it everywhere. Mayweather was in WWE Raw promoting the fight. The fight is all over TV"

The problem with TV alone is there are 6 million channels.

I just wish the promoters expanded and killed the internet sites.

There's a ton of choices for people these days. Promoters need to recognize them.

That goes for the DLH's the Mayweathers and everyone else.

They seriously don't know how to create a buzz for anything these days in boxing.
I think Golden Boy does a pretty good job atleast for their huge events, some events they slack on but when they want to pull out all the stops they kick it into high gear.

I feel you though because even Golden Boy could do a better job with it but to me they are ahead of game in regard to their competition.

HBO and GBP tried to do that with the online videos and by exploiting SN.

Here is how archaic Arum is and how ****** Roach is:

When Schaefer announced that they were going to show the fight in theatres, Arum predicted numero Uno would tank and Roach said it was obvious that they had given up on the PPV buys.

            They didn't get it.

It was never about the revenues from the movie theatre sales. Figure 200 threatres X $15 admission X a couple of hundred in attendance per theatre. That's half a million to a million in revenues. Peanuts.

But what Arum did NOT see was that getting into the theatres gave GBP/MP an oppportunity to advertise the fight with a two minute commercial during the blockbuster summer season to a captive audience in 2,000 theatres.

The fight only showed in 200 theatres...but the commercials ran in 2,000.

Think about it: you watch TV at home, you pay no attention to the commercials, and you fast-forward because most shows you watch are DVR'd nowadays. But in the movie theatre, you pay attention to the previews. You are a captive audience. Right?

Top Rank STILL doesn't understand how that worked.

I watched last night, did Ms. Anderson really say that? Ill try and find if she does, but to answer your question, no this fight hasnt gotten mainstream attention. You would think it would, Mayweather/Marquez did and I was shocked because of the opponent being Marquez, then I realized, it wasnt about Marquez, but rather the former.

                  that's what i'm saying.

                  1. every prospect should have a facebook/*******/youtube page.

                  2. good fights by prospects that were not televised should be emailed to boxing fans. (how hard is it to buy boxingscene's , east side , sherdog's email list?)

                  3. undercard fights not shown on tv should be streamed on the promoter's website.

Movie theatre commercial time is proven to be very effective.
