Boxing won't mean **** in this fight, Cotto is too much for him and will crush him.
was he ever of balance against diaz and oscar. hatton makes all his fights into wrestle fests so of course everyone he fights will be caught of balanced. if you have not noticed pacs footwork he has improved immensly. pac can use his feet to get away now. he now knows to use his speed and distance in tandom. cotto is ***ed!

Everyone is looking at Cotto's fight against Shane and the boxing ability he showed in the later rounds. That's the kind of "boxing ability" that PAC will pick apart!!

Cotto's best chance to victory is to impose his size and power through perpetual motion, not box PAC.

JMM/Erika's boxing ability are worlds apart from Cotto's. Cotto is much better at bullying, rather than boxing!
lets see his boxing ability has taken out quintana shane mosley clottey paulie malignaggi and corley all world class boxers. They all say he is a very good boxer body puncher. I think he is underrated if anything

Cotto's defense or lack of defense is his ONLY flaw IMO......overall he's a very good boxer!!

Stop thinking with your heart. Packy is out of his league against real WW's.

He didn't really look off balance against Diaz and Oscar cuz' they had cement in their shoes.

I hope your not basing your prediction on those fights. The Hatton fight is also useless against Cotto.

Be prepared to pay me my 30k.

I see the fight like this. I stand by my prediction with Cotto winning a decision but this is not the same Cotto that fought Mosley, Quintana and Judah. Cotto is a smart fighter and I like to think he will fight a smart fight but if he has any trouble with Pacman's speed, he will get knocked out. The same day weight in will tell us all alot. I think he will come in weighting between 155 or 160 on fight night. If he come in below 150, it will be a victory for Pacman. Neither will beat Mayweather.

Not all that? He boxes circles around Marg for six rounds and was outboxing Mosley and he's just average? I'd rather see him be the aggressor, but he can box too. Cotto is the protypical boxer-puncher. He does both very well.

Shut your mouth! You don't know jack about the subject. You're better off talkin' about picking trash in the streets of NY. That's what America's bottom feeders are experts at.

He can box effectively at times, but against Margarito even though he boxed ok, his body language didnt look good doing it. He looked under much distress and was fighting to keep Marg off of him.

It's a tall order.
Exactly, which is the same way he beat Mosley. Roach made a statement, I believe in 24/7 or somewhere, that Cotto does all his works when his opponent is on the ropes. That isn't quite correct, Cotto does by far his best work in terms of damage when his opponent is in the ropes, however, as IMDAZED stated Cotto likes to fight close to his opponents but combine slugging and boxing. Essentially he'll do the exact same thing he did in the Mosley fight, at least that's what I'm expecting. He can put pressure, then back off with a double jab, waits for his opponent to come and counters. He can also box if he needs to and counter as we saw with Margarito or he can pressure his opponent as he did Judah.

The problem for this fight, at least from what I can see, is that Cotto is far more versatile than anyone Manny has ever faced. Not only that but he also brings a ton of power and boxing intelligence as well. This is Manny's toughest test, not because Cotto is just stronger but because Cotto has so many ways in which to adjust to Manny's style, but again it all reverts to Manny's speed which is so good, it begs the question that with as versatile as Cotto is... will Manny's speed still be just too much?
