I wish B-hop could have fought Chris Henry....it would have been and easy win against a tough fighter who comes forward and is a sucker for right hands. No one could have ****ted on him for that win, but beating a guy who lost to a fighter who threw in the towel against a fighter Bernard dominated....that is another story.
2. The guy he's fighting is bigger than Joe Calzaghe and has fought at super Middle most of his career.
3. Are you ***ing ******ed?
Bernard Hopkins started at light heavyweight. He's a big man who has carefully selected smaller opponents like De La Hoya, Trinidad and Wright all his career.
The man he's fighting has been a middleweight most of his career, and Hopkins is forcing him to MOVE UP to light heavyweight, as usual.
Wright: natural light middleweight, had to move up in weight to fight Hopkins
Calzaghe: super middleweight, moved up to 175 for Hopkins
Pavlik: middleweight, smaller bone structure than Hopkins, had to move up to 170 for B-Hop.
It's a tune up so Hopkins can fight whoever he wants. A tune up ain't supposed to be against stiff competition. It's basically a fight to get back in fighting shape, simple as that.
Sooooo why does Floyd get **** for this and Hopkins get a pass?

Bernard doesn't get much credit for beating Winky...he gave Pavlik a boxing lesson the weight was irrelevant, Pavlik doesn't make an excuse for it...DLH was looking to fight Bernard...Bernard didn't make him move up...Trinidad was a champion at 154 and 160, was undefeated and the favorite to beat old man Bernard...
Bernard didn't do **** at 175 when he started so its irrelevant...if you can make 160 you can fight at middleweight...that excuse is horrible logic...

His best win was vs Tarver who had actually lost loads of weight from filming rocky, Tarver isn't all that either.
Just because Trinidad was a champ at MW dont mean much hence Hopkins great 20 defense streak, the division was ****e, wasnt like 6-7 of those defenses vs the same 2 guys aswell lol?
Oscar was freaking Tiny compared to Bhop
Pavlik has basically beaten Miranda and Taylor (who beat Bhop lol). Taylor has gone on to prove how great he was since..
What about the time that Roy Jones fought Anthony Hanshaw, Jeff Lacy, and Felix Trinidad? Those guys are not natural Lightheavyweights. Not only that, they are garbage compared to the opposition that Hopkins fought. If you're gonna apply this ****, do it across the board. That is why this thread is a fail.

Roy is not unjustly ranked as #1 LHW in the world though, this after a loss to a SMW and a win over a MW.....I just have a problem with him being ranked over Dawson.

How so? It aint like Dawson is fighting three or four times a year and he struggled to beat Tarver in both fights more than what people realize. He made the rounds that he won close by posing and not doing anything for periods of it, and the three rounds that Tarver won in both fights were clearly won by him. He just didn't have the legs and energy to keep up with Dawson in the other rounds. The only thing that Hopkins has done is not fight Dawson. Other than that, the #1 ranking rightfully belongs to him. He should fight Dawson though. I'm not dis*****g that.
