You can look at it in 2 ways. The first way is that it makes it look like Clottey doesn't want to fight him because although 650k doesn't look like much for a world class boxer, this is a big pay day for him as he made less to fight Miguel Cotto.

Or you can say Paul Williams is being a cheap skate and trying to get an undertrained Clottey for low money, and easy boost of the resume.

Clottey does have a point but i think he needs to put up or shut up.
He has his chance to fight Paul Williams and he isn't going to take it. Williams went after the other two because THEY HAVE BELTS CLOTTEY. You are the third option and your time came up and you backed out. So no more excuses or calling williams out.

Doesn't matter how much he was getting paid to fight Quintana because he was going to get a full training camp in AND Quintana was just a stepping stone for Clottey and the risk of getting a big fat L on his record was a lot less, meaning less risk for a bigger reward down the road.
