Come on Jaz. That "knockdown" was caused partly by Clottey slipping. If Cotto's jabs were THAT powerful (they simply aren't) I don't see how Cotto could bomb Clottey all night with power punches yet not even phaze him. Clottey shook his punches off and pretty much straight up told Cotto he wasn't doing ****. People over rate Cotto's power.
Sam, he caught him just a little off balance. He didn't slip on anything. And that jab was pefect. And anytime a boxer shakes his head "no, you didn't hurt me", is a sure sign he did. People underate Cotto's power. You'll see. And his jabs are very effective.
They were detrimental in him winning the Mosely fight. He threw 101 less and landed as many as Mosely. He also landed 98>71 of jabs. That jab is one of Cotto's best weapons. I compare to Mosely because he is very fast too.
But Cotto nullified the speed and knocked mosely off his a game with that jab.
No Sam, you said that...Originally Posted by Sox8055

Nah, you're buggin. The Lazcano fight told me Hatton's chin was cracked. A weight drained Cotto would manhandle Paulie in clinches, Hatton couldn't. The difference why the fights was stopped is Buddy McGirt being in Malignaggi's corner the second time around. Paulie's face was ****ed up from round 2 on, he was in worse shape against Cotto.
In a P4P fight, Cotto beats him in 6. At 147, Cotto beats him in 4.
