24/7 Pacquiao-Cotto disappoints fans

I thought it was one of the worst 24/7 episodes that I have seen. Manny contributed nothing, and Miguel's segment editing was poor.
1) You said that you felt "this fight can't be any more hyped". I disagreed, and requested that you demonstrate the hype to the mainstream fan.
2) The way that I would have improved the 24/7 is to show a history of the exciting moments and KO's that these guys have . I would have mad a part of the show into almost a highlight reel.
3) I would have amped up the monologue/overdub from Liev's typical dramatic style, to a more upbeat/energetic tone.
4) I would have liked to seen more "menace" from the fighters. In much the way that Hatton was able to do in his 24/7 w Floyd. Do you remember when Ricky was saying "I'm ready for this...more than him".
5) I wouldn't have made Miguel such a "family man". I don't think the non-fan is going to buy the fight because Miguel is a good dad. I think they buy the fight because they think this Cotto guy is a beast. Someone who was knocked down before but keeps coming. Someone who had blood pouring down his face, someone who will get dirty and low-blow you , if necessary. I would have edited new and existing footage to make Miguel THAT guy. The Terminator.
6) i would have shown the aftermath of the Koncz/Ariza sc****. HBO allowed them to downplay it. At least provide context.
How's that for starters?
It would be a better promotional video, but wouldnt be 24/7.
A slightly more upbeat monologue wouldnt make a difference with the 90% slow mo they use.
More menace i cant disagree with. They did soften Cotto. Im sure they'll do it in future. Maybe they are building up the tension, but they could have started with it.
I doubt Koncz/Ariza wanted to talk about their altercation. What more could they have said about it? They argued about who would be in Pac's corner.
Boxing fans dont usually give a **** about the promotion before a fight, but IMO have been overly critical of 24/7. I dont think the criticism is based on fans worrying about the promotion of this fight, but that they would of preferred a highlight reel u can find on Youtube. Thats not what 24/7 is about, and they should know that.Comment

This was the first ep that Miguel has been on. I just think a bit of context and introduction was necessary.
For the mainstreamers (the target audience) who watched 24/7, I don't know that they walked away from that episode with a good idea of who Miguel is.Comment

I'm not looking for a 30 minute highlight reel. Of course not. But much of that time they spent with the typhoon could have been re-allocated.

I know very little about Cotto, so i liked to see him talking. They show some highlight footage, and mention his bloody loss to Marg.
I think they didnt want to use all the good stuff up on the 1st show.Comment
