        Your comment is asinine and shows that you know nothing about boxing or at least knew nothing about boxing in 1999. In 1999, Trinidad beat a faded former champion in Pernell Whitaker and won a controversial decision over De La Hoya. I was a huge Trinidad fan, but I thought he lost to De La Hoya.

        Mayweather beat world champion Genaro Hernandez in 1998 and KO'd Angel Manfredy, who was considered a top notch fighter at the time, that same year. He beat three decent opponents in 1999. He deserved the #2 spot because he had a better quality of work than Trinidad at the time.
