Both sides go to war before first bell even rings

While talks continued about the proposed length of the middleweight title bout between Thonas Hearns and Jake Lamotta it was obviousthat neither side wanted to back down or give the other ground. Emmanuel Steward, one to always stand for his fighters cause was very angry that it would even come to this.
Sitting before the Michigan Professional Boxing Commision Steward told of how the fight was made. "I signed, and then Tommy signed, a contract that stipulated that the bout would be for 12 rounds." Emmanuel lifted the contract from the table and presented it to the boxing commisioner. Brad Wright, Michigans boxing commisioner, excepted the contract from Emmanuel and read its ingredients. Looking up from the paper Wright said, "Well, it clearly states that this is to be a 12 round fight, obviously that is what Emmanuel and Thomas agreed to.
At that point, Joe LaMotta, jumped from his chair with a contract of his own in his right hand held high into the air. "Thats Bull**** your hon.....". Wright quickly calmed Joe and reminded him of who he was talking to. Joe calmly continued, "I have the same contract here that they signed that says that its to be a 15 round title fight, who ever heard of a 12 round title fight?" Brad was given the contract and looked it over. "Well, this contract states that it is to be a 15 round title fight. I do not understand how this can be however, both contracts are signed but both contracts are entirely different when it comes to the length of the bout."
Wright, spoke quietly with the official for the nights bout, Frank Garcia, seated next to Wright as he nodded his head up and down as the 2 conversed. Wright finally stood and addressed the press and crowd of on lookers. "This is a tough situation that we have here. Both parties are animent about the length of the bout that they want. I will need some time to discuss this with the other board members and I will get back to you.
As Wright finished,a well dressed man jumped from his seat amongst the on lookers shouting, "You ain't **** Hearns, take da fight and eat your lumps as you should." The well dressed man was none other than Frankie Carbo. Sitting besides him, smiling, was one James Norris the owner of the Olympia Stadium.
With both sides threatening to back out of the fight it is a vrey tough situation indeed. Only 9 hours are left until this war in the ring is to be waged. Hearns looking for 12 rounds and LaMotta is looking for 15. Stay tuned as details are found they will certainly be past directly to you.......Rumblin' Rockin' Productions
Oh ****, I forgot that this fight was taking place in Michigan. Ok, I'm changing my pick from "LaMotta TKO-9" to "LaMotta falls behind in the early goings, but comes back to drop Hearns a number of times in the mid/late rounds. But the referee helps Hearns up each and every time, gives him a five minutes rest break after each one, thus enabling Hearns to last the distance. The judge's, who fell asleep during many of those KD breaks and often through the actual action, score the fight as follows; 147-136 Hearns, 149-133 LaMotta, and 150-130 Hearns...What the hell?"
