ITS ON!!! Thomas Hearns vs. Jake LaMotta..... March 27,2005

ITS ON!!!!!! March 27th,2005 at the Olympia in Downtown Detroit. Yes, its easter sunday and these two warriors will not be denied their chance to crack a few eggs here.

The Bronx Bull will step into the ring at the middleweight limit of 160lbs and in his prime. The Hitman, aswell in his prime, will move up from the Jr. Middlewieght limit to throw fists with his seemingly unstoppable opponent in this 10 round middleweight barnburner.

LaMotta will certainly force this fight with his constant aggression and seemingly endless supply of punching artillery. Hearns will look to use his reach and power to crack the shell of LaMotta and put him down for the first time in his career.

Its Easter sunday and ITS ON!!!! You will want to be at the Olympia, when these two legends collide, for it will not be easter dyes to color the eggs. When fists and fury like these meet in the ring the only color that will be prominent will be blood red. So come on down to the Olympia in Detoit, Mi. Yes everybody is going to be there, we already have word that Jesus has indeed already purchased his ring side seat......Rockin'

    And upcoming bouts of note

    Heavyweights
Harry Wills will finally, after 70 years, get his crack at the heavyweight title when he steps in against the champion Jack Dempsey. Aint no predjudice between these ropes Jack, your going to have to throw down.

    Lightweights
Pernell Whitaker will use his ring savy and defensive wizardry in his attempt to take the belt from the waist of "Hammerin" Henry Armstrong, the only man to hold three titles in three divisions at one time. This classic match up of aggresion and power vs. defensive and ring genius will certainly be one to be remembered.

    Light Heavyweights
Michael Moorer will look to pound Michael Spinks into submission in this Light heavyweight title fight. It will be Moorers overwhelming power against michael Spinks' boxing ability and undefeated record. Who will walk away the Light Heavyweight king of the world.

Stay tuned as Rumblin' Rockin' Productions will continue to bring you ringside for the best bouts that a century could possibly offer. If its in your mind, we can put the fight together. Contact Rumblin' Rockin' Productions with any bout of interest...............Rockin'

Its Rumblin' Rockin' Productions fantasy fight throw downs. We'll take any of the 2 best fighters, or the worst for that matter, from any division of any era and throw them in the ring for the fight of the century. Time is nothing that can stop these fighters from stepping into the ring and fighting for their rightfull place in history.

The fights will be simulated and then reported on a round by round basis so that you will not miss any important punch or wonder where and why the blood is flowing.

There are knockdowns, broken ribs and brutal knockouts when Rumblin' Rockin' Prtoductions throws a fight card. So dont miss the fight, March 27, 2005 when The Hitman, Thomas Hearns steps in to throw fists with the Bronx Bull, Jake Lamotta.

Bets can be placed on this fight if you would like. All points bet will be thrown into a pool and then divided amongst the winning betters on a percentage basis of how much you had bet. All points that were bet will be paid back out. I keep none at this point............Rockin'

yup, i can do anybody against anybody. If this first fight goes off good I could do all kinds of them. What I am looking for is for people to become involved in discussion about what they think about the fighters and the match ups. The betting part is for fun, I will not change a result because of who may have bet on who. Rumblin' Rockin' Productions believes in 3 things. Honesty, integrity and giving the boxing public only the fights that they can dream of. So get involved and lets get the fantasy fists flying as only Rumblin' Rockin'Productions can.............Rockin'

                  LaMotta vs. Hearns.

Tough fight to call. Hearns definitely can crack, and his punches had unbelievable speed behind them but he is fighting above his weightclass against one of the most iron chinned middleweights in history. I predict this will probably start like most of the LaMotta-Robinson fights (with Hearns playing the part of Robinson, establishing his jab with the help of the added reach and handspeed) but the crucial difference is that Ray had a great chin and Hearns...well let's just be respectful of the Motor City Cobra and say his chin wasn't his strong point. ; )

One thing with LaMotta, he would hit you. He wasn't as quick as Hearns but he was no slow poke and he really swarmed his opponent with hard blows to the head and body. Disregard the low KO record. He wasn't a KO artist but he ended Laurent Dauthuilles great night with one punch (well with something like 13 seconds to spare on the last round. He also had Robinson in trouble in most of their fights and even knocked him down. I am completely sure that LaMotta had the punching power to hurt welterweight Hearns.

So who do I go with? Jake LaMotta, because he was a middleweight (and a big middleweight at that who had trouble making the 160 limit) and would pressure Hearns like Hagler did. He didn't punch as hard as Hagler did, so it probably goes into the mid to late rounds before LaMotta knocks him out. Hearns' just didn't have the chin to withstand that many punches, nor the strength to tie up LaMotta in the clinches.

He shouldn't feel bad though; there is no shame in losing to an all time great who fought at a higher weight class than his own.
