Why does everyone dislike "potshotters"?

I can't, for the life of me, explain why people hate on potshots. Roy & Floyd in the past and recently Dirrell have been criticized for potshotting. I see no problem with this at all.

It's because most fights can't potshot, it's a dying art form and will be missed when Hopkins and mayweather are gone.
